Up until we installed the recent Windows 10 Creator update, ArcPad has been running great on Windows 10. But with the update came two strange twists. Windows Mobile Device Center stopped working and more...
I have inherited a project that uses Nomads with ArcPad to collect point data. I have limited ArcPad knowledge, so I have been reading the material available online. In "How to: Check Out/In data from ArcMap to ArcPad for editing," it specifies to use a personal geodatabase. Is there a specific reason for this or is a file geodatabase equally, or…(Show moreShow less)
I am having partial success with using feature class attachments for photos in ArcPad 10.2 with a Trimble Geo 7X and it's built in camera. I have to access the attachment table in ArcCatalog and insert "RASTER" as the Default CONTENT_TYPE field and insert a value e.g. 15 as the Default DATA_SIZE field. I check the data out via Trimble Positions…(Show moreShow less)
Hi Chad, ArcPad presently only supports photos via a Picture field. See Picture Options in "Get Data for ArcPad". In http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcpad/10.2/app/index.html#/Get_Data_for_ArcPad/00s100000068000000/ This is a Text field that will contain either a filename or URL to a photo. We do not physically store the JPG inside…
I am trying to add data from a ArcGIS server using ArcPAD using the "Add data from server" button. however It does not connect. Am I doing something wrong or missing a step? Please help.... See Screen shot. attached.
By the way thank you so much for your replies. I need to get this thing sorted out by the end of the week. What I'm ultimately trying to archieve is to be able to collect data from the field and have them synced back to the server at the same time.
Up until we installed the recent Windows 10 Creator update, ArcPad has been running great on Windows 10. But with the update came two strange twists. Windows Mobile Device Center stopped working and dates in forms look strange. Both of these were unexpected and the second one still not explainable, but I'll describe them here. If you come across…(Show moreShow less)
I have 2 .sid images that we use in ArcPad. Where the images overlap, there is a blackout area where there is a '0' value from the projections. In arcMap, I can simply symbolize a '0' value as null and eliminate the black-out. They are both projected into the same state plane system, even though the boundary is through one of the images. This…(Show moreShow less)
Hi Stephen, Thanks for replying. I will see about converting to a .tiff, it may be prohibitively large in that format. I am also looking into a solution to the blackout via mosiacing. I will also bring up the possibility of tech support. We are government based so Tech support is different somehow. I'm not sure exactly; I'm new here.
When I attempt to check out shapefiles (I'm using data collected several years ago) located in a file geodatabase in ArcPad Manager, ArcMap crashes immediately--no spinning circles, just "ArcMap has stopped working." I have tried every configuration possible: checking out for disconnected editing, background data (shapefile), background data…(Show moreShow less)
I have created a version for myself from the Default geodatabase. I have been using ArcPad 10.2 and ArcMap 10.2. When I checkout data in ArcMap from my version the axf file is not created. But when I checkout the data from the Default version the axf file is created. For your convenience I have attached 2 screenshots - one from the result of my…(Show moreShow less)

Hi all, I'm trying to troubleshoot a script error that is called when attempting to add a Quick Field expression using ArcPad Expression Builder. For context, the environment is ArcPad 10.2 and Desktop 10.4.1 in Windows 7 enterprise. I've created a map in ArcMap and deployed relevant layers using ArcPad Data Manager. The deployment has an .axf…(Show moreShow less)
