I have a question on data integrity, specifically between the interaction between AXF check-ins and changed domains & associated values within a database. Specifically, say I have a domain for a field for three values, Alb : Albatross, Bir : Birdie, and Cho : Choke. I have let's say a feature class with a field that uses these values and has a…(Show moreShow less)
I have a different workflow with my ArcPad apps, but would adding new domain/values vs altering them help any? Maybe a A2, B2, C2, etc. Then if this is all that is needed for this field colection, maybe change the code so the checklist/pulldown/buttons are only allowing the new values? Just a thought, and may not be possible for your situation.
Hello GIS friends, I'm wanting to create a data dictionary(s) to be used in ArcPad 10 on a Trimble Geo7X? Does anybody have any good recommendations on the overall guidelines, methodology, or framework to do this? Do I first try to create the data dictionary in GPS Pathfinder Office and then import it into the Trimble to be viewed and used in…(Show moreShow less)
Thanks so much! I realized that the best thing to do is create your feature class in your geodatabase in ArcMap. The geodatabase holds the domain names (drop-downs). Once you check-it out in ArcMap, and view it in ArcPad you are able to make the edits or add your geometries and the dropdowns are already there. There is no need to create a data…
I can checkout from my sde geodatabase successfully in my DEFAULT version but when I am in a child version, my checkouts don't work. I go through the same process to checkout. I tested it on one layer and that layer didn't succeed. It works in default. Why doesn't it work in other versions?
I have a custom ArcPad application and the zoom in and out button is zooming by a factor of 0.5 but I want it to be by 0.75. I thought I found the code which multiplies or divides the starting scale to zoom in and out. But when I change the multiplier the zoom level does not change. Any tips on where to look?
One of my former co-workers checked out several projects for ArcPad, but has now left the company. I copied over all of her maps from her computer to mine, but not her geodatabases for checking in and checking out ArcPad data. Is there anyway to check-in data my field crew just took with ArcPad if I did not check it out? I did try checking in…(Show moreShow less)
Hi, We have recently purchased Getac PS336 devices and are experiencing difficulties when we try to run ArcPad 10.2 on them. More specifically, ArcPad appears to have difficulty connecting to the GPS unit as the GPS status panel constantly displays 'No Fix'. The settings we use are as follows: Program Port: GPD1 Hardware Port: COM4 Baud:…(Show moreShow less)
Success! It turns out that if you manage to create an Error (in this case 55 - port in use) then ArcPad will let you do the autodetect. After playing about somewhat I have managed to get the GPS to work in ArcPad using COM4 and Baud 9600. The actual GPS in the system settings is now set to Programs - COM4 and Hardware - COM6 Baud 9600. …
this is for ArcPad 10.0. So when you are looking at the fields you have created and you click on the drop down menu you can not read all that is on that line. Is there a way to widen these drop downs? Thanks
Does anyone have recommendations for a good waterproof (at least IP 67) handheld GIS/GPS that will use ArcPad 10.2? Our summer help dumped our "old" (two years old!) Mobilemapper 20 into the river and now it doesn't work and I can't find anyone who is willing to repair the Mobilemapper.
Hi all, I'm having an issue with checking out features from an SDE database to .axf. Here's the deal: I've got a feature class with a bunch of different subtypes in it, but when I export it the usual way (through the data manager toolbar, the way I've been doing it for months), some of the features just don't get exported. Usually its by subtype,…(Show moreShow less)
I don't know if this is related or not but I recently noticed that features with duplicate key or improperly set domains are not checked out. So I think Eric is right, if features didn't pass validation rules they will not be checked out by data manager. Once issues corrected they check out just fine.
ArcPad 10.2.4 is available to download from My Esri. ArcPad 10.2.4 includes a critical fix (BUG-000095878) for users who are synchronizing data with ArcGIS server. Also included with 10.2.4 is support for NTv2 datum transformations. Note: Access to secured web services using SHA-1 certificates is no longer supported, this means some older…(Show moreShow less)
