I recently started working for a small municipality that has an opensource web map created from SDF files, but uses Arcmap as well when needed. I was recently hired to help transition the GIS to industry standards, but am struggling to game plan for the best route to take. We are currently exploring the options to either get an Esri Enterprise…(Show moreShow less)
Echoing what Joe said, the LGIM is a great starting point. If the data you currently have is in terrible shape, the LGIM is a good place to go. I did a similar thing with my current organization (transitioning from multiple copies of the same data, all with different levels and qualities of attribution) to the LGIM. The task was not easy and took…
Later this year we will be updating the Local Government Basemaps solution and leverage new capabilities in ArcGIS Pro, such as tasks and the ability to publish vector basemaps. Before we begin updating this solution and we want your feedback! What Local Government Basemap have you published? (feel free to share) What is your favorite basemap? …(Show moreShow less)
I have used the General Purpose, Imagery Reference Overlay and Zoning basemaps. They were a great help in providing some content for new applications. I really like the Zoning basemap, because we have a number overlay districts in addition to the base zoning. Like most folks, I've made a number of tweaks to the General Purpose basemap.…
Can anyone shed some light on what the intended use is for the wTestStation feature class in the WaterDistribution dataset? The only fields are install date, editor tracking, and whether a feature is enabled for the Geometric Network (the class description seems to indicate that it participates in the network). I migrated both our…(Show moreShow less)
My "Streets & Stormwater Department" here at the City of Tulsa has some Watershed Sampling Sites. These are sites where regularly scheduled testing of the water and wildlife occurs. Currently I have 29 sites. I'm uncertain where to store these in the Local Government Model. WaterDistribution > wSamplingStation (Simple) WaterDistribution >…(Show moreShow less)
Brian, did you ever get an answer on this? I am similarly wondering what these feature classes intended uses are. My guess is you would use ssTestStation in the SewerStormwater feature dataset. I'd like to know the difference between wSamplingStation and wTestStation for drinking water.
I am working on putting out a Public Notification application and I am having issues with configuring the application because once we push it through our Web Server and out onto the web, nothing shows up but the Public Notification Template. Has anyone else ever had this issue?
Will the schema be available in an .xml download for the items now available as feature layers through the Local Government Service Catalog? The March release included the removal of multiple feature classes from the Local Government Information Model, some only appear to be available through the Local Government Service Catalog now or did I miss…(Show moreShow less)
Thanks for the explanation. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question. I'm mainly just going to miss the ease of importing the entire .xml into a staging environment and configuring from there for each of our customers specific needs. I will just need to adjust to a different workflow. We use both ArcGIS Online hosted and our…
Anybody been able to get the Schema Migration Wizard to work? I've tried it with both data and no data, both times I get an error that says "Import xml data failed. The relationship class is incompatible with an existing relationship class." The only way I have been able to get it to work is if I run it through without any modifications to…(Show moreShow less)
Jeff - Over the last few months, we have been working on a series of enhancements to the schema migration wizard and Xray to improve the overall experience when using the Schema Migration Wizard. Know we are delinquent on its release but we are finishing final certification and plan on releasing a new version in a week or so. Saying…
We recently upgraded some of our users to 10.2.2 from 10.0 and also upgraded their version of attribute assistant. Their one complaint since the upgrade is that they find the icon hard to see. They find it difficult to tell if the tool is on or off. Is there a simple way that we can go back to the old version where the red exclamation mark was…(Show moreShow less)
Hi, I'm working on a Local Government Scene (Local Government 3D Basemaps | ArcGIS for Local Government ) but I cannot get the roofform 'Dome' to work. I've tried changing the BLDHEIGHT and EAVEHEIGHT but that does not have an invluence. When I say that in the attribute table the roofform should be a dome, the roofs appears flat in the model. …(Show moreShow less)
