Using Las data files directly in ArcGis via Las-Dataset is great for viewing.
We are missing a possibility to export selected areas/points from LAS-Dataset back to Point/Multipoint/xyz-Format.
So a Clip-funktion would be nice that:
- takes a polygon from feature class or grafics
- Option to select certain point classes (or use visibility settings in the layer file containing the las-dataset)
- Output selected LAS-Points to feature clas, xyz, multipoint,...
Goal is to have a database as LAS-Dataset, and if certain areas need to be analysed in more detail (e.g. using funktions that dont work with las-dataset) they should be easily extracted from Las-Dataset.
