Public Notification app template should use feature layers.

The Public Notification app is currently configured such that to implement it you are required to cache a basemap which includes parcel lines. This is impractical as parcels and addresses update regularly. It does not make sense for me to have to re-cache the service weekly to assure the current parcel geometry is reflected in the basemap. After a bit of poking around  I managed to add a dynamic service layer into the app such that you can see the parcels that are live on our server but it was not an easy process for someone with limited JS ability.

Hi Chris,

Would you mind sharing the modifications you made to the js to get the parcels to appear?  I am having the identical issue you describe--can't see parcel lines in the Public Notification app.  Thanks,

Jeff

I too would like to see parcel lines in the public notification app. Has anyone been successful at being able to do so?

Hello,

In January 2018, the Public Notification application has been replaced by a new Web AppBuilder configuration.  This application can now be fully hosted, and allows more customization (including maps) than the older version.

The version referenced in this post has been moved into mature support.

Thanks,
