We are using a lot of webservices and a lot of feature classes (local installed ArcGIS server and Oracle Enterprise Geodatabase). When we need to change something in the data source (single feature class) the webservice needs to stop, otherwise the data is locked. To avoid stopping all the running webservices in a production environment, it would be very usefull to get a quick overview in which webservice(s) a specific featureclass is being used.

Yes, this would definitely make change management easier!

I agree, an Inventory overview tool would be great, but even just being able to right click on a service and view what feature classes are part of that service in the properties pane would be useful. Right now you can see which mxd, but mxd's can come and go especially if you have multiple publishers whereas the data cannot since it gets locked. It would also be nice to go the opposite direction, where you can right click on a feature dataset/gdb and see which services are based off that data in their properties pane so you know what services to stop before you try to update the data.
