Image texture (spatial variation) is useful in the recognition of image regions and very helpful in defining regions in calssifying images. Image classification is much improved when textures of a region are considered.

It can be done using equations and moving windows, but this useful technique could be much easier to implement and would be more accessible to many users if it was included as a texture tool in spatial analyst.
