It would be most useful to have the ability to create complex objects, consisting of poligon, line, and point objects, for use in a geometric network. This should have behaviour similar to a CAD "block" comprising various feature classes, and should allow placement from a library of objects, allow deletion, rotation, alignment, and snapping of the object while retaining the spatial relationship ot its constituent feature class components.

The attached image shows such objects. In this case it is switchgear (polygon) containing a busbar (line), links (line), switch (point), CT (point), VT (point), Fuse (point), Breaker (point), etc.

Are we talking about two requirements here or one?  For something like a SwitchGear is the requirement to have a single junction on the map and then when you zoom in far enough (and/or select it and "open" it) you see the individual features (bus bar, switches, fuses, etc.) inside?  Or is the requirement to be able to just create some sort of composite set of features that you add to the network in bulk (which i think is what we are seeing in the graphic)?

I am in need of the ability to place as set of components that create the spatial representation (polygon) and geometric network elements (points, lines). In the image, a bank of switchgear has been placed in a substaion, the elements are intended to be visible at all times. The point features will be suitably simbolised to indicate their function (CT, VT, Switch, Breaker, etc.), and together with the busbar and internal links, would form part of the geometric network.

This is a single requirement - to be able to place and edit substaion plant during the creation of the site, and be able to move, rotate, align, or delete an object (switchgear in this case) while all internal components retain their assigned positions within the object as it is being edited.

This ability would allow the creation of a detail layout, as well as the geometric network elements, at the same time.

How about using complex junction features
