Clip a raster to tiff, jpeg, MrSID or other raster format.  Currently I have to clip the raster to .img then convert it to TIFF.  I would like to convert to MrSID but it's limited by file size.

With the Clip tool, you can clip the raster and specify another output by changing the extension of the output file.  So for a tif use .tif or .jp2, or any of the other supported raster formats for output.  The option to export to a sid is not possible due to the proprietary sid format.  To create a sid, you must have the LizardTech software, GeoExpress.

Per the help, "You can save your output to BIL, BIP, BMP, BSQ, DAT, GIF, GRID, IMG, JPEG, JPEG 2000, PNG, TIFF, or any geodatabase raster dataset."

When you clip a raster, you can specify tiff, jpeg, and other formats. MrSID format is a proprietary format from LizardTech.  You can certainly use MrSID for mapping and analysis purposes.
