Prior to v10, a single feature could be clipped from a single feature.

This functionality was removed in v10, and replaced with the "improved" functionality of clipping ALL of the viewable and selectable layers, based on a single feature; additionally, it is no longer possible to clip and leave all parts in place.

Please restore this basic functionality, and the ability to leave all parts in place, and let me decide what to do with those parts.

"the ability to leave all parts in place, and let me decide what to do with those parts"  - Wouldn't this just be a matter of using the intersect geoprocessing tool? You can simply make a selection from the two layers you're wanting to 'clip' and plonk them into the tool to do single feature by single feature and this lets you decide which parts to keep and which to delete

Lauren... that is overcomplicated as well, when compared to the functionality that was in place prior to v10.  We want to be able to clip one feature from one other feature, exactly the way it worked in v9.3.1.
