- Be able to fine tune merging roads with node tangents more precisely than actually (due to dynamic layout limitations). Also, getting more parameters for junctionintersection type Very useful for highways/motorways networks

- "intelligent"  road shape merging when connecting roads segments with different width/ lanes width. For example, dividers can be roughly cut

This is really something we'd like to see in CE, too! We're using it mainly to load off the tedious task of creating street models manually from our artists and more control over streets will allow us to get more variation and - more importantly - realism into our art.

More specifically, detailed "lane" management would be very practical, allowing to:

- Split up lane into several lanes (e.g. before a crossing to allow lanes going into several directions)
- Merge multiple lanes into single lane
- Fork lane off the street (e.g. for crossings with separate right turns)
- Merge lane into street (e.g. merging back right turn lane into street)

I think the integration of "lanes" would be a powerful concept, as it would allow you to set parameters on single lanes, like:

- Direction (where can we turn at the next crossing)
- Speed limits
- Other lane attributes (e.g. disallowed for heavy vehicles)

Even sidewalks could be treated as lanes themselves.
