Create the capability to embed QR code in printed map products to enable georeferencing (create world file) of scanned in map pages.  Map pages could be distributed to individuals, marked up, and scanned in to serve as background for digitizing in ArcGIS.  The capability would support data collection in humanitarian assistance and disaster response missions.  Capability should also be available at ArcGIS Explorer Online in the Presentation creator.  Concept articulated at: http://sites.google.com/site/marcpfister/georeferencingwithqrcodes

We are looking for a solution wherr a QR code could be added on the side of the layout of a map before printing it out which would include geographic coordinates (x, y) encoded in a QR or barcode Georeferencing the rectangle of the map.

By this way, anyone that would need to scan a print out in the future, the person would automate most if the process of Georeferencing in ArcMap and heightening the precision fo calibration.

Regars,
Dejan

Automatic QR code creation for an AOI, point, line or polygon is overdue. Time to include it in your next dev sprint.
