Hi,
I am using ArcGIS 10, arcHydro 2.1.0.116, and GeoHMS 10.0.095.
I started by running Terrain Preprocessing steps in ArcHydro to generate all the grids from LiDAR DEM. After I got the grids,  I used GeoHMS to "Start New Project", then i added outlet point downstream. Then when I tried to "Generate Project" I am got the following error:

I tried to google for it, looked through ESRI forum, there are some suggestions that I found and tried, but nothing fixed my issue. No matter what I do i get the same error.

Thank you very much
Nataliya

Nataliya,
Did you ever find a solution to this issue?

I get this error when I am working on a project that is on the network drive. Try moving the rawdem and other layers to you local drive if you are working over the network now.

See the link under my signature for other solutions to Arc Hydro problems.

Thanks for the suggestion!

We have tried doing this on a network computer, a local drive and then on a local C-drive. Still the same error message when we hit "generate project" (we have also followed most, if not all, of your suggestions found in your thread).

An interesting thing is that, even though "project point" and "project area" pops up in the table of contents, we cannot find them anywhere in the catalog. And when we use "zoom to layer" for "project area" we are zoomed out incredibly.
It is as if they don't really exist..?

Best regards and many thanks for any help

We solved it by updating Arcmaps to 10.1 and also adding the corresponding version of GeoHMS.
We are working on a Windows 8 computer.

But now the step after where all the new fil, fdr, fac, Mainviewdem etc are created, doesn't work.
(we never came to this step before)

The next problem was avoided by NOT saving the new project in a database.. The new project will be created anyways but the next step wont work if the new project is in a database. That was our solution anyways.
