Hi, I'm new to scripting.

I'm trying to install PythonWin 2.5 to create a script. I receive the following message: The program can't start because MFC71.DLL is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem

I've rebooted and reinstalled PythonWin to no avail. I have Win 7 64 bits Home Professional and ArcGis 9.3

Any ideas?

You can download the MFC71.dll here.  Save this file to your 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64' and then try installing python again.

Thanks, oh, exalted master! It worked like charm. I've already downloaded the DLL when I posted the question, but the instructions at the Python site say to copy it in the System32 folder. On a side note, you also have to run the Python installer as Administrator.

I guess I'll ask the guys at Python to update those instructions for persons that use Windows 7 64 bits.

I cannot express in words how grateful I am. I have to travel this Saturday to my daughter First Communion. Now I think I'm going to be able to finish my work, which I was doing painfully by hand. I will be thinking of you next Sunday, whenever I see her smile. Thanks, man.
