Help! Data layers not showing up in arcgis online

I've been testing a feature service for almost a month now and all of a sudden yesterday, my layers no longer show up in arcgis online.  I tried restarting the service, restarting my server, but it doesn't seem to help.  I can access the layers in a web application using the silverlight application, but not arcgis.com.  I am collecting data using the iphone app, so i need to use arcgis online.  Plus I have volunteers in the field!!  Any ideas what is going on?  I can share the map with a group if you want to look at the feature layer.

Also, I'm no longer able to edit my data in the iphone app or online.  On the app, I get this error: "an error occured while posting feature edit.  unable to complete operation"

For what it's worth, I've experienced this same problem with KML Network files.

WHEW!  Everything is fast and working again after I compressed the geodatabase!  Did not realize that was a necessary maintenance tool, but it made a huge difference.
