Hy guys,
i have a KML file and i have to import it in arcmap as shape.
I used the toolbox and other tool that i find online, but all tool import the kml without the original fields; all fields are in a field info window.
There is a script or any way to import a kml in arcmap with all original fields?
Thanks

Hi,

You can try using the KML to Layer geoprocessing tool first (Conversion toolbox > To KML toolset). It will convert your KML/KMZ file into a file geodatabase feature class with the layer file .lyr (which you can export later to a shapefile and apply the symbology). The tool is available in all licenses.

There are other options - Data Interoperability extension (or if you FME Desktop software), 3rd party tools (if you just search for "KML to shapefile"), and Esri http://arcscripts.esri.com/.

Hm, could you please check that the KML to Layer works fine first then?

1) Use the Layer to KML tool to export any of your shapefiles/feature classes (with multiple fields) into a KML/KMZ file.
2) Use the KML to Layer tool to export the newly created KML/KMZ file into a feature class.

Do you get all your fields then? By this I am trying to verify that the tool itself works correctly. And if it does, then there is probably something wrong with the data you used.

Do you have ArcGIS 10 with the latest SP installed (SP4)?
