I have tried several times to install and run ArcGIS Explorer on my laptop and the closest I get is the ESRI Splash Screen and Frame for Explorer and it falls down Dead. Is there a log file that tracks the cause of death ?

I have a similar problem with the same platform. The display window within ArcGIS Explorer is transparent to my desktop! Just got off of the phone with tech support. No solution yet (currently waiting for a call back). I suppose there is some comfort in learning that I am not the only one experiencing the display problem on a Vista machine.

Did you run the install as an administrator?
