I have been having serious issues with ArcGIS online starting later afternoon yesterday. It is loading my groups in very slow and when I click on the map I get an "error X" and the maps will not load. I tried in firefox and explorer, I also tried on other computers in my office...no dice. Is anyone else experiencing problems?

Hi Jerry,

Have you cleared the browser cache?

Cheers,

I did and that did not work.  I found a work around.  I have to hit the refresh button.  If I don't I just get a blank screen. Not sure what happened, this worked perfectly until Friday. I have lots of other folks from my staff using these maps and they are experiencing the same problems.

I too am having difficulty with GIS today.  I am trying to upload CSV data to create a new layer, however once I import the data none of the points are showing.  I tried this in both Firefox (13.0)  and Safari (4.0.4) browsers. What can I do to get rid of this problem? ArcGIS Explorer Online was working fine for me over the past couple weeks.

Thanks

Are you uploading to ArcGIS Explorer Online or ArcGIS.com? Can you share your file here?

thanks,

Mike

Oh, it's ArcGIS Explorer Online that I am trying to upload to and am experiencing problems with.  I received the email about the updates which are going into effect on Thursday and realized maybe that is why I am having trouble?

Anyway I've tried to copy and paste just the top 7 rows into the "Import Content" window.  When I complete the import process, the data points do not show.

I'm ultimately trying to get a layer of the data on the Melospiza melodia(Song Sparrow) and then I will import a second layer of the Zonotrichia albicollis(White-Capped Sparrow)

I can see your problem. Seems like it could be a bug.  I exported your Excel file to a CSV file and was able to upload that file. When I exported to CSV, I did notice that Excel added an extra comma to the end of each record. I had to manually remove it in Notepad to import the CSV into the map.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Thanks for checking the situation out for me.  I cannot see the comma's you speak of when the document is in a csv file.  If you have any suggestion for how to fix this please let me know. Otherwise I will continue to try and fiddle around with it and see if there are other ways to get around this issue.

Thanks!

Just figured out how to get the data to upload! When I cleared the blank column at the end, the data uploaded.  I also discovered how to edit the commas in textEdit.  Thanks for your help!
