A big part of data management is editing. Editing usually means creating new information or updating existing information. However, keeping your data clean and free of duplicate features is an important part of editing.  And, no matter how careful you are, there’s the chance that duplicate features get created. As Michelle Johnson explains, “It is important to identify and delete/correct duplicate features in order for your GIS to deliver the best information needed for decision-making.”

Check out Michelle Johnson’s blog post and take a few moments to review three important data checks you can do with ArcGIS Data Reviewer:

How confident are you that your data is free of duplicate features?

  • Very confident
  • Somewhat confident
  • Not at all confident
  • I have no idea
