Image Symbology Problem in Mosaic Dataset

Here's the issue that's happening.  I have four band imagery that renders a certain way in ArcMap.  I have an image from 2000 and one from 2010.  If I place the 2010 image in ArcMap, it renders properly.  If I load it into a mosaic dataset, it also renders properly. However, if I load both images in a mosaic dataset, the 2010 image does not render properly.  The 2000 one does.  It doesn't matter if I load the images together or if I load them one by one.  If I load the 2010 image first, it shows up properly, but not after I load the 2000 image.  I've tried importing symbology from a raster and a layer file, to no avail.  I want to use the mosaic dataset to use the time slider bar.  Any insight would be helpful.  Thanks

Do the two rasters differ in the band combination?  From your description, they both sound like 4 band rasters.  I would recommend when you create the mosaic dataset to create it as 4 band, add the two rasters and then use the Extract Bands function to pull together the 3 that you want. Since it seems that you have a particular setting of 4 band in ArcMap.  If one raster looks like you want with 4-2-1 and the other 4-3-1, then you may need to use the extract band function on the individual rasters rather than apply to the whole mosaic dataset.  You can access the individual functions by opening the attribute table and then selecting the individual raster and then adjusting the function there.
