I am struggling to figure out how to create elevation profiles from lines that I draw in ArcPro like I was previously able to with the 3D analyst toolbar, any ideas?

Stack profile is not really what I am looking for at it is slower and does not display graphs in pro.

Thanks.

Interactive line profiling is not yet available in ArcGIS Pro, it will be added in a future release. Around the 1.2-1.3 time frame.

"and the tool is executed in ArcMap, ArcScene, or ArcGlobe"

additionally -

old method using 3d analyst tool bar:

select elevation reference dataset (do this once and it is probably going to be right for everything else you do)

use interpolate line button to draw line

click profile graph to view profile graph then right click for export options

-takes maybe 30 seconds?

new method??

create line

use stack profile tool

-select input line features

-select profile target

-select save location

run this

which then creates a table that must then be exported and graphed in something like excel or matlab (graphs are only displayed in map/scene/globe)

this is not at all efficient for the types of topographic analysis that i do.

hence i am trying to see if there is a way to use the old method in pro.

why there aren't simple profile tools like in global mapper is beyond me... (not a global mapper fan either)

Thanks Drew

Is there a comparative list of what is available in both10.3.x and Pro or a list of what isn't available in Pro?

It makes it hard on everyone since people are wasting time looking for things that don't exist yet.  Perhaps, putting up the Pro equivalent help file and saying Not Available Yet would help.

Timothy Hales could you fly this up the flag pole with the documentation people to see if we could get the collective bits of "those who know, what" into the online documents

Is there an ETA on 1.2/1.3 release?
