Greetings...

I have an Aspect Raster based on a 30M DEM and a polygon landform feature class. Is there a way to calculate the percentage of north facing slopes (as well as all slope directions) that reside in my landform area polygons?

Basically I want to determine which percentage of my landform or area polygon(s) is facing N, S, E, W, NE, SE, SW, NW.

I am using Arcgis 10.0.

Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

Mark

this sounds like you want the tablulate area tool - where the 'zones' are your landform feature class  and your aspect raster are the classes (make sure you have done any reclassification of your aspect raster beforehand) to tablulate across each landform.  You may have to push the table created by tabulate area out and massage that in excel to get the data in a format you want to report.

I'm trying to do something similar, but don't have spatial analyst.
How would you suggest doing the same calculation (percentage of a variable in raster format within an overlayed polygon) without the aide of spatial analyst?

Thank you!
