Pokémon GO has been out for about a week now, and it is taken the world by storm by connecting the real world with virtual world. As popular as this app is I am sure most users have no idea it is driven by GIS. As a technology guru I look at the app a little differently. I think about the data points and the technology similar to geofencing to associate the user's location with gyms and PokeStops. I wonder why they haven't create buffers around roads and locations to prevent characters from being placed in restricted areas. What do you think about the connections between Pokémon GO and GIS?
