The Collector app (10.4.0.0) on Windows 10 does not attach photos from the camera.  While I can take a photo from the camera window, the 'tick' button remains greyed out and the 'waiting' window just hangs.

I've now tried the Collector app on four different Surface Pro 4 devices & all experience the same bug.

I can attach photos and documents via the 'folder' button.

Please let me know if this is a known bug & when it will be fixed.

I've since discovered that you can attach photos by using the 'folder' button under attachment.

In the Explore window that pops up, there's a camera option (see photo below).

This works like a charm.  In fact the attached photos are better because:

1.  File name includes the date

2.  Photo retains EXIF information.

However, it begs the question - what's up with the camera button?

Hi Nick,

Have you learned anything else regarding this issue?  We are experiencing the same thing.

We are aware of this issue and have logged this issue for develop team to look at. Here is a workaround for now. In Collector setting, Change photo size into "Actual Size". It works fine with this setting based on our test result.

Note: this increases the size of photos you upload.

I've had the same issue working with a surface pro 4.  The strange thing is that this issue does not persist with the surface 3 (using the same 10.4 release of the app)

I'm testing a Surface Pro 4 right now with Collector 10.4, and I can't even see the attachments option. Can't View, can't Add, nothing. It's just not there.

The first pic is from my Surface Pro 4. What is this empty space/line at the bottom, shouldn't there be an attachments option?

(What is this blank line at the bottom? Shouldn

Here is the very same record viewed on my Galaxy S5. Notice, the ability to interact with attachments.

Here is the same record, but viewed on my Samsung Galaxy S5

Hi Mike --

In the first and second picture, there is an attribute without a title after Longitude. That is what the white box is on Windows: the place for that attribute that has no title.

Looking at the icons in your picture, it looks like you are viewing the details of the feature on Windows, while on Android you are editing them. As such, you'll see differences: when viewing, you should be able to view the attachments if that particular feature has any. While editing, you'll be able to add and remove them.

My guess is perhaps the feature you are viewing on Windows doesn't have attachments so you aren't seeing any when viewing the details (or it does, and to see them you need to scroll farther down). But if you were to tap the pencil icon and start editing that feature, you'd be able to attach them.

I am having exactly the same issues with Collector on a Windows 10 tablet, I find a asset, switch to edit mode, I can update the fields but cannot attach a Photo, there is NO icon. where as on an Ipad this all works as expected. Any suggestions ?

Andrew-

What version of Collector are you using, and on what device?  Make sure you have the latest (10.4.1).

The version that is loaded from the app store in Windows 10, cant actually see version information in the app. On both a Dell Insperon tablet and an HP elite pad.
