Why does my geoprocessor return a different Shape_Length when I run it from a widget then when I run it manually from Server Manager

How do I determine the map projection of the map? Isn't it based on the MXD i published as a service

you didn't show the numbers... so I am guessing.

geographic coordinates will show up in the range -180 to 180 and -90 to 90

If they are big numbers... they are projected

Gary,

Since you are talking a web app (viewer for flex) then the maps projection is determined by the basemap used. If you are using an esri basemap then the maps projection would be 102100 web mercator. If you are not using an esri basemap then the maps projection would be determined by the basemap that you choose to use.

Thats got to be it. I am using a base map and the map service is using GCS_North_American_1983. Thanks guys.
