I'm also having this issue and there is no globe icon and there is no unique URL. Please help me resolve this issue. It appears to be a bug in the beta release. There is no sharing icon anywhere on the Cascade even after selecting this in settings.

Hi Wilemena,

Sorry you are having an issue sharing your story. If you don't have permissions to share with your Organization or with the Public those buttons would not appear, but you should still see the SHARE row in the builder toolbar and an the Private icon, so I'm not sure what is happening in this case.

It seems your story is already shared publicly (I was able to access it) -- did you share it from My Content? Was there anything else that you did to this story like modify it outside the builder?

Is this story in a public account or an account that is part of an organization? If part of an organization, what role is your account?

Can you try unsharing your story from My Content to see if those buttons appear again in the Cascade builder?

Owen,

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I was able to access it using the

clunky long URL and so were others so it's publicly available there is just

no function to share it within the GUI. It's due for a grade so I won't be

able to play around with it until after grades are submitted as it has to

be public for my prof to review it.

I will try to see if these approaches work after the review. I am likely in

an organization affiliated with UT so that may be affecting my permissions.

I appreciate your immediate response.

Oh, I thought you were asking about the sharing controls that control the access permission, but it seems like you were asking about the sharing tool that lets you share to Facebook, Twitter and get a short URL. Sorry!

Have you tried unchecking and rechecking the "Display sharing button" toggle? Also, I'm wondering if the sharing icon is hidden behind that wide scrollbar? Can you resize your browser or use a different browser?

If you need a short URL you can always just go to bitly.com and create your own short link for your story.
