Hi all,

I have a bunch of PDF-Files containing maps. The PDF-files show ARCMap 10.2 as the creator. When zooming in file, the maps turns out to be vector graphic. Converting it to MS Word creates layered bitmaps. When convertzing it to TIFF using ArcMis toolset the whole map is rastered. The report says that the PDF contains Georeferencing data.

My quenstion: How can I import the PDF into ArcMap again an preserve the layrers, which the PDF obviously contains?

TIA!

Uwe

I don't think you can import PDF into ArcGIS ArcMap. ArcMap can produce georeferenced PDF maps but no way of using/importing them within same application

You may not be able to import the layers as vector, but you can import the PDF to TIFF with georeference information preserved (Needs ArcGIS Desktop 10.3 or later).
