How to merge DEMs

Hi,

I'm using Arcgis 10.0. I have 3 DEM files. Before converting to TIN I need to merge them into 1 DEM file. I tried to use tutorial but I couldn't.
Also I don't know exactly what are mosaic and raster.

Use Data Management Tools>Raster>Mosaic To New Raster.

Drop in all the DEMs that need to be merged into 1.

I tried a few different things (raster calculator, mosaic to new raster, merge) and this is what finally worked for me: create a new geodatabase, create a new mosaic dataset, then add rasters to new mosaic dataset.  Here's a tutorial:

I had to choose dataset instead of workspace for my multiple DEMs.

Worked like a charm!
