I am trying to use Model Builder to update our buildings layer with new solar panels. The solar panel data is saved in an excel file (now converted to .CSV file). I am new to model builder, so I am not sure where to start. We are using Model Builder a. for the experience and b. because this will be a repeated process used to continuously update our buildings layer as new solar panels come in. Again, I am new to this so I am not sure where to start but we are looking at using a merge or join. I also can't seem to find any tutorials that are doing anything similar. Any advice or pointing in the right direction is appreciated!!
My suggestion, is to first figure out how to do your workflow with the tools one at a time. I think these tools are what you're looking for:
Make Feature Layer
Add Join
Calculate Field
Delete (the feature layer - with its join)
Once you know how to do this, it's a matter of dragging the tools to Model Builder, connecting them together and running the model. (There may be some debugging to do in there as well!)

Here's a video on how it works in Pro! Very similar to ArcMap. This 2 minutes demo goes really fast -- but gives you an idea of the process.
