Does Geoplanner trial version not allow you to make a new project?

We are trial testing Geoplanner and the option at startup to allow us to make a new project doesn't exist.  Is that turned off for trial versions?

Hi Brett,

There are two ways to create a new project in GeoPlanner:

  1. When you first sign in, you should see a green Create New button.
  2. If you open an existing project (you have to either create one first or be invited/added to an existing project), click the three line burger button in the upper left corner of the app and choose Create.

If you don't see these options, please post a screen shot of your browser.

Thanks for the reply, Robert.  Here's our screenshot with no green button though...  Any ideas?

Hi Brett,

Thanks for posting the screen cap. You have probably signed in as an account with a user role. You need to sign in as a level 2 publisher or admin since you'll create feature layers as part of your work in the app. Check your account by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to arcgis.com as an administrator.
  2. Browse to My Organization.
  3. Find the account name you used to sign in to GeoPlanner.
  4. Verify the following:
    1. Level = 2
    2. Role = publisher

Note: As a user role, you can open projects that others have created and have invited your account to.

Let us know what happens!

Rob

Thanks!  She was in our system as a user.  I changed her to a publisher and that worked.

If you can pass this along - Requiring somebody to be a system-wide publisher to use a single app breaks our permissions system.  We don't want her to be able to publish maps across the board.  So if ESRI could make it so users can utilize an app fully without having such power across the entire enterprise, that would work much better for all of us.

Thanks!

Glad to hear that worked for you.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll pass it along.
