If I draw polygons in NAD83 zone 15 and the end users open my shapefile in NAD83 zone 14. Can that create important discrepancy in the polygon's area ?
UTM uses transverse Mercator which maintains angle/shape accuracy, not areas which would also be calculated at the planar surface, not topographic surface. I wouldn't expect the areas to be really off in zone 14 versus zone 15--since they're already "off".
