Hi,

I am looking for set up real time GIS for trolley but I noticed there are many different methods use. I am confused. I am not sure which one is the right one.

I have ArcGIS Server, GIS server, SQL server, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS for Desktop. (have customized web site)

Please assist me in this matter.

Thank you.

So Tracking Analyst is an extension but it isn't real time. Think of it as bread crumb of past so it is after the fact. Tracking Analyst is really used to answer the questions of where did it come from, where did it go, and where was. While GeoEvent is more for answering where is it now or when it was last reported. Tracking Analyst doesn't allow you to bring in a live feed of the data. ArcGIS Enterprise natively doesn't include real time capability that is why you need to add on the GeoEvent Server. It is an additional cost so that is why I would recommend reaching out to your sales rep.

Hi Alexis, generally speaking if you are wanting to bring in a stream of Live Data and have it displayed in the ArcGIS Platform, you will need to also have GeoEvent Server in addition to what you have above. I would recommend reaching out to your sales representative.

Thank you for your response. I noticed there is tracking analyst and GPS connection on ArcMap. Is it real time also? In August, will have install the ArcGIS Enterprise. Does it included real time or is it still required to add GeoEvent Server?  Please clarify. Thank you!
