Hi Jack,

Are you still running into this issue with 10.5 final?

Thanks,

Sarah

I am. 4 weeks ago, I set up all environment: geoanalytics ( 2 machine ), portal, spatiotemporal d.s. ( 3 machines ) and hosting server. It was fine, it generated manifest and hints file easily for taxi data in the tutorial. Then we deleted all virtual machines and set all of them up again.

It says " An error occured while generating big data file share manifest "

I unfederated/federated , stop/start services, check license, change .csv files, also add our shapefile test data, try green taxi data..

At troubleshooting:

Common GeoAnalytics problems and solutions—Documentation | ArcGIS Enterprise

After I generate a big data file share, there are no datasets in my manifest. What's wrong?

If a manifest contains no datasets, there are two potential problems:

  1. The location selected for the big data file share did not contain the correct folder structure. To learn about the correct folder structure, see Registering your data with ArcGIS Server using Manager.
  2. The datasets are not in the required format. To learn more about the types of data you can register using a big data file share, see What is a big data file share.

The folder structure is correct. Because it was OK a few weeks ago. Dataset is fine because it's tutorial dataset. Also I wrote a manifest file as .txt format and tried to upload that, it fails again.

Do you have any idea?

Hi,

Can you check the the parameters are available at the REST endpoint. To do this go to:

https://<your geoanalytics machine.domain.com>/<geoanalytics web adaptor>/rest/services/System/GeoAnalyticsManagement/GenerateManifest

There you should see a list of parameters (such as action, dataStoreItemId, and a few more). If you do not see these parameters, try and restart the GeoAnalytics Management tool box using admin at: https://<your geoanalytics machine.domain.com>/<geoanalytics web adaptor>/admin/services/System/GeoAnalyticsManagement then use the stop button, once that is comepleted, use the start button.

If the parameters still don't show up please contact support, and we'll make sure to update the solution here once we figure out the problem.

Hi,

We tried to stop/start geoanalytics services. Also restarted virtual machines. Still same.

I can see Tasks which are GenerateManifest and ValidateDataStore. But i think there may be couple things are lost. When i clicked on them, only generatemanifest task is available to write something on it.

I asked technical support on turkey, thanks.

Hi Sarah, I've tried so many solution to resolve this problem, but the issue still in there. I informed technical support in Turkey. But analyst in global keep asking irrelevant questions. What's your suggestion? Do you prefer to remove all virtual machines and install again? By the way, we are using domain admin account for all arcgis server and data stores and portal service.

Hi, can you please provide a screenshot of the REST endpoint for the Generate Manifest tool. From your comment above I can't tell if the parameters are populating or not. What language are you running GeoAnalytics in? (OS, Server language pack, portal etc)?

Hi sarah, i saw your messages now.

I removed all environment because I failed on these tests. I'm going to use on Linux env 2 weeks later. I'll try on centos.

I was using Datacenter Windows Server 2012 R2. There was no language pack. Portal and Servers were 10.5.1.

Anyway i stil insist that ESRI don't have any useful documents for this product. Neither they don't trust in this product nor they have many documents but they dont share because they're selfish. I don't know. Also nobody in our distributor know geoanalytics, I'm making all tests for myself.

I think my fault was windows os. It mustn't be Datacenter. It must be standard. Because I set this environment up 7 times.

Thanks for your response. If you are able to provide an example of documentation that you are expecting, I can try and prioritize writing it for the next release. In the meantime, if you’d like to send me an email at `sambrose at esri.com` with your case number, I can help look into this issue.

Happy new year!
