How authorize ArcGIS Pro 1.3 personal use, the site My ESRI under no such authorization functions (although ArcGIS Desktop 10.4 is such an opportunity, and it works fine). How can I authorize ArcGIS pro through ArcGIS Online?

Sorry, but I haven't received such letter. Need to to contact support service?

I see from the thread that you contacted Esri Ukraine, but it sounds like they weren't able to work with you?  They should be able to log a case on your behalf with Esri Support here in the US.  I'll message you separately to get the username you're using to access ArcGIS Online.

All comments from the thread above are correct in terms of if you sign in and are only seeing arcgis.com... this is a Public Account.

You should have received an activation link which would walk you through the process of creating the ArcGIS Online organization account which is what is needed to manage the Pro license.

Again, I'll message you offline and we can see what we can do to help get you up and running!

Has this issue been resolved for Sasha Leyberyuk ?

I have a similar issue having problems authorizing my ArcGIS Pro account that I purchased online.

A slight twist is that I am normally from New Zealand and would easily access my support there.  But I am currently in Ghana (completely opposite time zones), I have tried to contact the ESRI reps there but I have had no response.

The thing is that I need this authorization to be working pretty pronto as I am hoping to run some community GIS training early next week (which will potentially gain ESRI some new cutomers). If this can't be done in time I'll have to revert back to QGIS.

I think the problem might be with my ArcGIS Online subscription.  I have a public account I have been using.

When asked to activate a subscription it gives you the opportunity to use a current log in (Makes sense not having to have multiple private accounts - after all I am just one person!), so I tried to use this but I receive an error message.

If you are prepared to look into this for me I can send you an email with the screenshots for every step I've taken which has resulted in ArcGIS Pro telling me I am not authorized.

I am having the same issue as Naomi. I purchased the ESRI Personal Use package and can't seem to get ArcGIS Pro 1.4 to authorize. I have installed Desktop 10.5 on the same machine and have that authorized; but when trying to issue a single use license, or use my public ArcGIS Online account to login, I get an authorization error. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

You've both mentioned that you're trying to authorize ArcGIS Pro using a public ArcGIS Online account.  Public accounts can't be used to authorize ArcGIS Pro.

See https://community.esri.com/community/gis/applications/arcgis-pro/blog/2017/04/10/how-to-manage-your-...‌

This blog will walk you through the steps to set up a Pro license through ArcGIS Online, but it sounds like you may need to first activate the ArcGIS Online organization account that comes with the purchase of the Personal Use license.  Please walk through the steps provided and let us know if you run into issues.

Thank you!

Hi Kory

Yes I have a public account that I have been using BUT I had just purchased a subscription.  To activate the subscription I wanted to use my public account because who really needs 4 different user accounts (this is the number I currently have, in reality I would love it to be only 2, a work account and a private account).

The below screenshot shows that there is an option when activating an organizational subscription to use a account already created.  However when I tried to do this I would get the following error message.

I believe this might be a bug attributed to the fact that my public account uses my Facebook credentials?

As I suspected it was to do with ArcGIS Online account that it wouldn't activate ArcGIS Pro.

I have fixed this with a work around of creating another AGOL account login ... but as I said surely I don't need 4 accounts!!

Naomi, I don't see any screenshots where you reference them in your post.  The error message that you reference here

"However when I tried to do this I would get the following error message."

would be helpful.

Join organization—ArcGIS Online Help | ArcGIS indicates that a "public account, including one you created with social network credentials" can be converted to an organizational account.

Having the error would be helpful.

Thank you.

Sorry I was on overseas internet, didn't realise the screenshots hadn't loaded.

Here is the original activation screen that gives you the option to create an account for the first time, or signin with an AGOL account (I tried the second option).

And this is the error I would receive.

I tried sending this to the NZ technical support, but didn't get very far.  Hence the give up and just create another account.

Unfortunately I still don't see the screenshots.  Can you write out what the error is?

The error says:

ERROR

Cannot add user to subscription. Items and Groups cannot be moved into this type of subscription.
