Background: I have set up a file geodatabase with 10 domains and 10 subtypes for data collection dropdown lists.  Also, using Trimble Positions. I struggled through the process but  sucessufully created and deployed a quick project utilizing a custom geodatabase with several dropdown lists. Data collection is fast, easy, and accurate... and it works. Getting the data back to the geodatabase in a corrected format is my issues. Please help if you can.

My issues is back to the check in process and post processing. I can see the data on the desk top arcpad, I can see that it is "generally" in the correct locations. When I check the data back it it will say something like... 198 points collected/processed ... 0 moved to trimble sessions.

Any ideas!

Facts from Documentation: ... ArcPad workflow support. Version 10.1.1 of the Trimble Positions Desktop add-in now supports data collected using ArcPad with the Trimble Positions ArcPad extension version 10.0.1. This includes support for AXF check-in/-out and the handling of QuickProjects created in ArcPad

I have found the answer I needed. There are several different threads on this topic.

One thing that seems to be universal... if you are "just starting out" with the check-in Check-out process keep all your files on your local machine under the same file structure. That seems to solve most of these issues in the various other threads as well. Once you can successfully complete the process, then you can tweak your workflow/process to work on a server.

For example. I keep all of my files on the server. When Checking In data however use my local machine for processing new data and  check-in, correct, and process my master database, which is on the server.

Again, for ease of mind, until you have "A Process" worked out, keep everything on your local machine and stay away from the server.

One thing is certain there are many processes and bugs to be worked out of the Trimble Positions/ArcPad duo. Its an awsome set up once you get the process down.

Dean,

Please submit this support request to Esri Support letting them know that you are using Trimble Positions for ArcPad workflow and providing full versions of ArcPad, ArcGIS for Desktop, and Trimble Positions extensions software so we can get you routed to an ArcPad support analyst.

Thank you,
Denise

From what I can gather from your post, what you created is not a Quick Project.  A Quick Project is set up in ArcPad.  I am assuming that you have the Trimble Positions ArcPad Extension installed on you GPS unit.  If you set up a file geodatabase (not a personal) prior to field data collection, you need to gnss enable the geodatabase and gnss enable the map document.  This adds a TrimbleSessions feature the file geodatabase and adds that sessions feature to the mxd.

To post-process a Quick Project, you only import/check-in from the device (though I reccommend copying the folder from the device to your computer and checking in from the computer).  First, you would open a new blank mxd and open the TP Desktop Administrator window, click on "Projects" then "create">Import ArcPad Quick Project.  This creates a new Project.  You will have a check box that if checked will create a new file geodatabase to store your Quick Project data and save the map document.  Alternatively, you can assign a geodatabase for the data to be imported into and still save the map document.

Once you have imported the Quick Project, the project should appear in the "Projects" list in the TP Desktop Administrator window.  Make sure the imported Project is highlighted green and open the rimble Positions Desktop docking window.  Your Quick Project should be listed with "Waiting for Correction" next to it.  Click on "Correct" and select a processing profile.

Hope this helps

Hi...

Just a quick note.  The ArcPad workflow does not require that you GNSS-enable your geodatabase or your map document.  That step is only required for the ArcGIS for Windows Mobile workflows.
