Have you tried Collector for ArcGIS?
Can you list what version and what software you are using exactly (and what device you're using)?
l am using ArcGIS for Desktop 10.4.1 and ArcGIS for Mobile 10.2.1 on a SunNav GPS handheld device
I'm finding that it sure is hard to find any documentation on ArcGIS for Mobile. It seems that Esri has directed most efforts away from this software and moved towards Collector. It might be a good idea to explore Collector for ArcGIS.
