I don't want to combine desktop licenses with pro licenses on the license server.

i would prefer they stay separate.

thank you!

Yes. ArcGIS Pro CU licenses will be different from ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap) licenses, even though both can be hosted from the same ArcGIS License Manager.

For more details, read Concurrent Use licenses—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

You must install ArcGIS License Manager 10.5.1 or later to manage ArcGIS Pro 2.0 Concurrent Use licenses.

Jayanta:

Would you have a screenshot of what the LM looks like when hosting both ArcMap and Pro concurrent use licenses?

This is what LM 10.5.1 currently looks like when just hosting ArcMap licenses, so I'm looking for a comparison.  Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the screenshot.  How is your transition from ArcMap to Pro going (e.g. Have you been able to convert 50% of your workflow to Pro, just an example)?

Hi Michael,  I work in the IT department of a US County, for some background. Right now, we just have our power users in the departments using Pro, so just a small handful. Most people use a web application to view layers.  For those who use ArcMap, the issue is getting them better, 64 bit PCs to be able to run Pro. In regard to our workflows, we need it to be able to work with the Parcel Fabric, but other than that, after lots of practice, I've gotten used to using it. Not sure about other departmental workflows. We are working on implementing Portal, though it's already great how it interacts with ArcGIS Online. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Chelsea:

Does your org just use Concurrent Use licensing for Pro?  If so, were you entitled to the same number of Concurrent Use licenses for Pro as you had for ArcMap without paying additional money for Pro Concurrent Use licenses as compared to the cost for ArcMap Concurrent Use licenses?

We converted our named user licenses to concurrent and only use that now for Pro. It seems easier to manage from an admin viewpoint, since we don't have to assign them to specific users. I double checked in MyESRI, and there are only "ArcGIS Desktop Basic/Standard/Adv Concurrent Use" Licenses. None specifically for Pro. On ESRI's website, What You Get with ArcGIS Pro | Esri, it says Pro and ArcMap are included with ArcGIS Desktop. So it doesn't cost extra.

Thanks for the info.  In your LM screenshot it shows that you have 6 ArcMap advanced licenses and 6 Pro advanced licenses.  Does this currently mean you have access to a total of 12 advanced GIS licenses?  If so, will this last indefinitely or is there some sort of time limit where you can still use the ArcMap licenses before only Pro licenses are available as that is the replacement software?

Did you previously have 12 ArcMap advanced licenses and you split your allocation in half between ArcMap and Pro for the transition period?
