Are there feature classes in the Local Government Information Model version 10.1 for traffic signals & crosswalks?  In looking I couldn't find any.  Is there a way to search the LGIM for feature class names or metadata to find something like this out?

Just want to add some clarity to Ryan's comments.  Signals are actually in a standalone table that is related to a single Pole feature class with a map join in ArcMap.  You'll want to take a look at this design and then think about your deployment approach - I did a recent forum post about sign inspections that may be applicable to your deployment.

Crosswalk striping may also be mapped in the PavementMarkingLine feature class.

I looked at Scott's other post and it seems that I will "flatten out the structure a bit more and essentially collapse the pole feature class and sign table in to a single Sign feature class".  The join in ArcMap is somewhat of a deterent from me doing it the currently established LGIM way.  I'll just create this feature class by looking at the type of feature class and the attributes from both tables and creating the feature class from scratch?

I'll look at both options for the cross walks, both are good suggestions.  I think I'll need to consider ways to cartographically represent the data on maps too.

Finally, is there a way to find out some of this information on my own or is it best to just keep posting questions in this forum and get advice from others (or Scott)?  I guess the more I work with the LGIM (v 10.1), the more familar I will become with it over time?

Patrick -

Just keep working with the maps and apps in the solution offering and you'll begin to get more comfortable with how the maps and apps interact with the underlying information model.  And don't hesitate to continue to contact us with questions in the forum.  We'll tr to help and you'll also get help from others in the community with real implementation experience.
