I'm trying to help a coworker so I'll try to explain this as best I can.  We have a shapefile that was exported from Trimble (I'm assuming with Pathfinder) that has empty Point geometry when we bring it into our (SDE MS SQL) geodatabase.  There are about 90 empty point and 800 line records .  If my co-worker brings the shapefile into QGIS it has 890 lines.  The attribute data comes along with the 90 empty points, just no geometry.  I'm trying to help him figure out why ESRI would import a shapefile differently that QGIS.  Is it because the geometry records don't meet some geodatabase minimum requirment?  Is there a way we can fix all the bad geometry easily.

Thank you in advanced,

Carol

Can you post a sample of the data somewhere which includes some of the record issues, or the raw Trimble output? I'm happy to take a look. Alternatively, email me at swalbridge@esri.com.
