I'm trying to overwrite a feature layer with a feature class in a local GDB, essentially just trying to script the process that takes two clicks to do within ArcGIS Pro. I think this is how you construct the overwrite but I can't find how to choose which layer you're overwriting.
variable name that corresponds with feature layer.manager.overwrite('path to local data')
Do I have to search for feature layer first using something like this?
search_result = gis.content.search(query='title:test', item_type='Feature Layer Collection') flc=FeatureLayerCollection.fromitem(search_result[0])
What's difference between Feature Layer and Feature Layer Collection? Instead of searching can I just identify the feature layer by item id?
Scott

As an update to this, I was looking for a way to disable user rotation while still setting a rotation amount at the view level. Working with Tech Support, credit to Mayur, we created a watch function where the if a user tries to rotate the map is returned to the view setting. This has the effect of essentially disabling rotation. // to watch any change in "rotation" property of view. view.watch("rotation", function(norotate) { console.log(norotate); view.rotation = 289 // if this is hit set the rotation back to 289 }), You can see result here, https://gis.greenvillesc.gov/imaginefestival/index.html Scott

Agreed, this would be helpful. You can do it ArcGIS Pro but I haven't found a way in ArcMap.

xzhang-esristaff, Any progress on this? Is it registered as a bug? This is holding up production for us. Scott

Thanks Thomas. I wasn't able to use webGL since the service is coming from ArcServer. I ended up using the last option you mentioned, JS Bin - Collaborative JavaScript Debugging One more question: When I use the search widget, the searched feature is highlighted using an orange fill but I can't change it. Adding some .css didn't seem to make a difference.

TSolow-esristaff, Any idea if this is slated for the 4.7 version? It's causing delays for us in terms of deployment. Scott

I've been using the GTFS Data in ArcGIS tools (which are great!) but can't seem to create a stops feature class that includes the time points. My GTFS feed has the stop_times.txt file but the base Display GTFS in ArcGIS tool doesn't use it as an input. Any suggestions? MMorang-esristaff Scott

Xingdong, Thanks for taking a look. Why does setting map a small scale seem to resolve it? Scott

If when creating the Mapboard I define a very small map scale, then the geometry looks much better. Is this the intended workflow? Since it's vector data, I'm not understanding why that would matter but it appears it does. Is it converted from raster at some point?

Sure, but it has happened with every layer I try. Does the map scale make a difference? I don't see why it would but I can't think of anything else. Data layer: http://grvlsc.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=e2b2d444b98b402988e0a034e5963e27

When I add content from our AGO site, the data displays with severe jagged edges. Is this a size restriction? Something in Illustrator? It's not really usable if this is the output from AGO-->Illustrator. Scott

How do I hide a layer in the layer list widget when the layers are being generated from a AGO web map? I know I can control the visibility on the layer but I'm not declaring any layers--just pulling over what exists in the web map. Scott

Perfect. Not sure how I missed that, thanks. Updated code: // Desktop
var legend = new Legend({
view: view,
container: document.createElement("div")
});
// Mobile
var expandLegend = new Expand({
view: view,
content: new Legend({
view: view,
container: document.createElement("div")
})
});
// Load
isResponsiveSize = view.widthBreakpoint === "xsmall";
updateView(isResponsiveSize);
// Breakpoints
view.watch("widthBreakpoint", function(breakpoint) {
switch (breakpoint) {
case "xsmall":
updateView(true);
break;
case "small":
case "medium":
case "large":
case "xlarge":
updateView(false);
break;
default:
}
});
function updateView(isMobile) {
setLegendMobile(isMobile);
}
function setLegendMobile(isMobile) {
var toAdd = isMobile ? expandLegend : legend;
var toRemove = isMobile ? legend : expandLegend;
view.ui.remove(toRemove);
view.ui.add(toAdd, "bottom-right");
}
// Add items to user interface
view.ui.add(anchor, "bottom-left");
view.ui.add(searchWidget, "top-right");
view.ui.add(locateBtn, "top-left");

Sorry the formatting is so bad on that. I looked at previous posts which said to just copy and paste but that didn't seem to work.
