In LocalMaps 2.3 it is not possible to rotate a symbol such as an arrow that is chosen from the point symbols library. It's understood that being a point there isn't generally a concept of rotation but if there was a way to rotate the associated symbol that would be of use to our staff. Alternatively, more symbols that are rotated in their design would be useful. Presently all the arrows only go either up or down.

Using NLTM authentication in the writer to create the connection (2b) worked for me. Despite being an admin and signed in via IWA I could not successfully authorise the web service method, likely due to our IIS settings or something in that space. Anyway, thanks Adam for the pointer. I am currently on FME 2022.1.1.0 build 22623 (full application, not interop) and ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8.1.

Got a short amount of time so a brief post, but in LocalMaps 3 it would be useful to be able to save a default widget configuration to be consistent and avoid reconfiguring for each new map.

👏Great work guys, switch maps is by far our highest-used widget at both HDC and KDC. No silos here! 😄

When using a custom print service with our own layouts, currently at Enterprise 10.8.1 we have to recreate the print service and overwrite the layout information accompanying it. Following this we refresh the print task and layout URLs in the LocalMaps 2.3.1 admin UI. This completely resets the print layouts that are available to all maps and turns them all on, while also limiting the export options to just PDF and JPEG. This means that all maps have to have their print settings reconfigured. What I'd suggest is an 'update print layouts' or 'add/remove layouts' option/button in the LocalMaps admin UI, so that when the print service is replaced (or overwritten if this becomes a viable option from ESRI) any templates that existed before and were either unassigned or assigned to a map in LocalMaps have their settings retained, but any that are either removed or added to our layout templates folder would then be removed from/added to LocalMaps. It could either be automatic or an interactive selection from the layout template list. Their particular settings could then be configured in the admin UI without the need to update all of the other layouts that haven't really changed.

Also experiencing this in 2.8.3 and cannot currently upgrade to 2.9, pretty major bug though. I worked around using ArcCatalog (10.6.1).

Just another +1 from Hurunui post-LocalMaps 2.3 launch, a user asked about this today and we'd be keen on being able to change the selection symbology. In smart maps 1 the selection default was yellow, which is a less commonly-used colour in our symbology than the light blue default as it currently is, which tends to clash with our 3 waters layers.

Approaching the 2-year anniversary of this idea, haven't gone to Pro 2.9 yet but it isn't possible at 2.8.3.

This is exactly what we are experiencing in Enterprise 10.6.1/LocalMaps 2.2 in New Zealand. As soon as I've added an Arcade expression together with an existing custom HTML popup, the LocalMaps (web app) search widget fails to zoom to the searches polygon feature. I am using the specific layer in the service to power this search. I have reported this to our vendor but it is worth mentioning here.

+1 to this. I do not need anything except the aprx file in 90+% of cases; the folder idea has its merits but it should be optional in all save cases.

What about an 'import symbology values from layer'-type option in AGOL, as we already have had in desktop for a long time. So we don't have to type/risk errors and can be consistent with the dataset/layer we published from.

How to describe this one. We are running a web app built some years ago before my time at our organisation - I'm no Javascript expert but from the URLs involved it seems to be the 3.13 API. After we upgraded our firewall this week users suffered a gradually-propagating inability to load maps (that are coming out of portal) with the web app hanging on the loading gif while data from ArcGIS Server displays behind the gif but no further navigation or interaction is possible. One or two users can still load them. Our browser of choice is Chrome but this happens on all browsers. The error we are getting is around this script: http://js.arcgis.com/3.13/dojo/store/Cache.js which is called by http://js.arcgis.com/3.13/init.js What I get on my own machine after a reasonable length of time is firstly a ERR_CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH 200 (OK) error message : init.js:40 GET http://js.arcgis.com/3.13/dojo/store/Cache.js net::ERR_CONTENT_LENGTH_MISMATCH 200 (OK) Next I get : init.js:41 Error: scriptError at d (init.js:15) at HTMLScriptElement.<anonymous> (init.js:40) Then immediately following is where it hangs: init.js:41 Error: scriptError at d (init.js:15) at HTMLScriptElement.<anonymous> (init.js:40) init.js:41 src: dojoLoader init.js:41 info: (2) ["//js.arcgis.com/3.13/dojo/store/Cache.js", Event] 0: "//js.arcgis.com/3.13/dojo/store/Cache.js" I can browse to the script if I use https. but on http it hangs. Testing with a user who can load maps I am able to navigate to it using http. One of my IT team (I'm the only GIS resource) thinks that Sophos (firewall/antivirus) is objecting to something in the script and blocking it, but we can't tell what. Any ideas? This has caused us a major headache today as it has taken down our GIS viewer and forced us back into ArcMap.

Thanks for the response Jonathan. This expectation/behaviour should be clearly indicated with an option/requirement to save incremental files on a storage drive or shared folder (as the backups themselves are), when you first run a backup and in order to front-foot the potential storage issue. I did not see any other warning, so it is left to the "I have a problem" stage to find this out. I don't think the C drive is always the best place for these files. No doubt however that they will make incremental backups easier, if that's the route one chooses, so that's a good thing. Our backups, once I have the opportunity to look at scheduling them (1 FTE for 2 organisations), are likely to be about monthly as our configs won't change very quickly once fully set up, and that's a lot of files to stack up in that folder on a server C drive that has in our case 100gb total space. I should add this is Windows Server, not Linux, but thanks for the link.

Having recently done our first full backup of our Enterprise 10.6.1 environment, yesterday I was surprised to find that the server had maxed out its C drive space. The culprit was Enterprise backup files in this portal folder: C:\arcgisportal\backup\walarchive The files in here just keep being created and created until they take up huge amounts of space - clearing it freed up 16gb. I gather from talking with local technical support that these are related to incremental backups, which we are not yet doing, but it seems an oversight to me to have Enterprise/portal filling up your critical server's C drive. I would suggest that there needs to be a solution found to this. In my view it should not rely on customers finding this problem when the C drive fills up, then having to manually clear several gb of files. Of course backups are great, and it's great that we're able to do a full or incremental backup and restore our server/portal in case of disaster. I just think this needs looking at.
