Hi. I had to deal with the same requirement and I ended up to convert the diagram to features which results in feature classes in a feature dataset. You can easily add these feature classes to the MXD then. You need a template-MXD with the correct symbology for all layers, because the symbology is lost when converting the diagrams to features. You can then programatically switch the data sources from the template-MXD to point to the converted feature classes. Convert Diagram To Features—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop If you want to export the map/layout to PDF/PNG and you have rotated symbols or label expressions, please note that you might have to use python 32 bit and not 64 bit because of the following Bugs: BUG-000093736; BUG-000092016 As far as I know this is the only solution but if somebody knows another solution I'm happy to hear about it. Best regards, Alex

When activating attachments for a feature layer in ArcGIS Online, a field called "Photos and Files" is created. It would be great if there would be an option to sort (ascending and descending) and filter this field. This functionality could be very useful when working with big datasets and the amount of attachments per feature has to be identified in a fast way. A common usecase could be to filter/identify all features with a specific amount of attachments.

Hi, I have a question regarding ArcGIS Schematics and the configuration of the Schematic Dataset. I created a Schematic Dataset using the "Smart Tree" Algorithm as a default and would now like to change the node placement/the distance of some nodes (one layer) in relation to other nodes. That means, if the distance of Node A in the geometric network is very close to Node B, the distance from Node A to Node B should be kept in the resulting diagram. At the moment, these relations/distances are lost using the Smart Tree Algorithm. The distance of all diagram elements is equal. Is there a way to change the position of the nodes according to the real distances/relations and still use a tree layout algorithm? For a better explanation, see this image: http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/extensions/schematics/GUID-9F3E8E3A-9C73-45BC-A623-C3B1880A85EB-web.png For example in figure 3.1: the red points should be very close to the blue points, since the distances from the red to the blue points in the real geometric network are very small. All other distances can be kept, just the red points should be adjusted in the diagram. I've found the "Node on Link" possibility, where you can enter a relative position along a link, but it looks like this only works with creating a new Feature-Class and referencing a table with the absolute or relative values along a reference link?! Any input is appreaciated!

Hi everyone, I have a question regarding the extension "ArcGIS Schematics" and the configuration of the schematic dataset. I have built schematic diagrams from a geometric network and used spatial query rules to build containers around the schematic features. These containers are overlapping in most cases in the generated diagrams. I would like to automatically generate diagrams where these containers are not overlapping. Would you know a method/an algorithm in the schematic dataset editor to automatically generate diagrams, where containers do not overlap, or would you know a method to at least move these containers, that they are separated in the resulting diagram? Of course, I could move these containers manually starting a schematic edit session, but I am looking for an automated way to move/separate the containers using the schematic dataset editor. The result should look like the diagrams explained here, where the containers are separated: http://desktop.arcgis.com/de/arcmap/latest/extensions/schematics/geo-compression-schematic-layout-algorithm-properties-page.htm Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi everybody, the details page of all items from opendata.arcgis.com is not appearing correctly on my workstations. (tested on serveral workstations) For example: 1) Search for an item. like "school" http://opendata.arcgis.com/datasets?q=school 2) After clicking on the item (it doesn't matter which item, it happens on all items) a blank screen appears on the details page: http://opendata.arcgis.com/datasets/100e4eb9c11e4d3c9d07a40da8d13ab1_0 Sometimes I just get the map of the data instead of the blank screen, but still don't get to the full item page with all the functionalities: Can you reproduce this problem? Is this just temporary? It was tested with Chrome, Edge, and IE. Any feedback is appreciated. Best regards, Alex

Hi everbody, can a statement be given for the period of time the token is valid? If you take your map offline (and go in offline mode), how long can you work with Collector for ArcGIS? How long is the token valid with a connection? Thanks in advance, Alex.
