Four years on, and I still feel this tool could be so much better.

(second attempt to post this question) We have a mix of Win7 and Win8 computers, with ArcGis 10.2.1 On the Win7 computers, under Add-In Manager > Options tab, we can add a well-known folder to the box "Search for additional Add-Ins in these folders". This path is retained by ArcMap, (possibly in the Normal.mxt since it is present in a blank ArcMap doc, before opening an mxd). This path is not retained on Win8 machines. When you close ArcMap and reopen it you have to reenter the path and reload the add-ins. Anyone encountered and solved this?

Win 7 Pro SP1 ArcGIS 10.1 SP1 I use classic snapping exclusively. Under Windows 7 the "snap tips" appear and disappear so quickly that I cannot read them, but with the same release of ArcMap on XP they were working fine. I can see that the cursor has snapped but I have to jiggle the mouse around and watch carefully to catch the snap tip. Really, even watching very closely I have to see the tip several times before I can read it. (As before, the tips appear next to the cursor and/or in the status bar.) Has anyone else seen this or solved it?

Tim, did you ever get this sorted out? I am getting pretty frustrated with this.
