HI Thomas Thanks for responding to this enhancement. If you need further details please let me know. Currently I use Tableau to audit the ESRI environment. I run a python script that extracts information into a csv file which is then loaded into a database for consumption by the asset owners to determine usage across the platforms Below is the Map Service statistics I have exposed the publishing properties as there were questions around tuning. The below provides a whole view of all map services published and the properties used for each. I also created a lineage of each map service so that you are able to see what map service is connected to what table via a specific SDE There are also usage reports I’ve created by capturing and transforming the IIS logs on the web server into usable statistics Cheers –––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– PETER BIRKSMITH Senior System Analyst EO BI D&SE, Information Delivery IAG Phone: +61 (0)2 9292 9167 Fax: +61 (0)2 9292 1111 Mobile: +61 (0)424 099 423 Email: peter.birksmith@iag.com.au<mailto:peter.birksmith@iag.com.au> Assyst Requests: Assyst Requests<https://assystportal.iag.com.au/assystnet> Address. Hi Sharon, Can you send us a screenshot of the message. Are there any errors in the karaf.log? - <GEP_INSTALL_DIR>\data\log\karaf.log Also which browser are you using? If you have Chrome, you could trace the network path being used the Development tools Ref: Chrome DevTools Overview - Google Chrome I would suggest that you may be experiencing ramifications of the latest browser TLS/SSL protocol changes. If your network CA certificate server are issuing TLS 1.0 SHA1 certificates, then you will be in trouble. The current browser versions have stopped supporting old certificates and this means you will see the error you mentioned. Anyway, we'll need to get a bit more detail from you before we can provide a silver bullet. Cheers Peter

Hi Glenn. If you are able, I would suggest that you download and install pgadminIII, version 1.22.1 - pgAdmin: Download - Windows™ The reason why I ask that you do this is because it will make your life a lot easier testing access to Postgres using pgAdminIII than by seeing odd errors in ArcMap. Once you have pgAdminIII installed, then you need to add add a server The Name will be anything you want that will give you an idea about the connection. The Host can be either the IP address, Server name or FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name)... Tip Check what has been set in the pg_hba.conf file. The Port number by default is 5432. Again this information can be found in the postgresql.conf file. The Service can be left blank The Maintenance DB leave as is. Postgres is the default. Enter a Username and password. *Note. The biggest issue you will face is how the pg_hba.conf has been configured. MD5 means that you will require the Postgres admin to add a user which must supply a password. If you are the Postgres Administrator, logon as Postgres and add a user Once this is done, then you need to modify the pg_hba.conf to add this new user to a specific database E.g. TYPE DATABASE USER ADDRESS METHOD host postgres user IPAddress of Desktop md5 Please note here that MD5 means that a postgres logon requires a username and password After this you then need to copy 5 files from your ESRI installation for Postgres Once you've installed it, you want to select, copy, and paste the following files from `C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\9.3\bin` to `C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.3\bin`: libeay32.dll, libintl.dll, libpq.dll, ssleay32.dll, and libiconv-2.dll Ref: https://community.esri.com/thread/114415 Assuming that all of the above has been done, you should then test by opening pgAdminIII, adding a server, entering the relevant details and it should allow you access to Postgres. If this doesn't work, ESRI won't work either. See how you get on.

Hi Mark. Sorry for the delay getting back to you and to the forum in general. The issue has been resolved by doing a couple of things 1. I installed Sp1 over 10.3.1 with hotfix DT-GGM and S-GGM 2. Deleted all content under ArcGIS\Server\GeoEvent\data\cache (Should only be performed with agreement from ESRI Support) I had narrowed the issue down to a corrupt jar file which I discussed with ESRI support. They then informed me that to recreating the cache, as above, would regenerate the jar files at service startup. I can provided a more technical explanation if needed but the above steps resolved this particular issue along with the RabbitMQ error on GEX service startup. Cheers Peter

Hi all After applying SP1 to Geoevent 10.3.1 I am no longer able to access the Management console. When I enter the URL I get an error message No service was found. Now the interesting thing is that although I can't access the console the processes are all functioning correctly and I can logon to RabbitMQ and can see that activity is occurring. We also receive the output as emails from GEX regularly. The SP1 has fixed the RabbitMQ issues we had but has introduced another issue. The Error being returned is from the http Jetty server which is yet another component of GEX. I would like to know if I can use RabbitMQ to export the configuration so that I can uninstall and re-install GEX and SP1 to see if the error resolves on the server. Also is there another way to get into the console? /geoevent/rest fails with the same error. Request URL:https://<host>:6143/geoevent/rest/geoeventservice Request Method:GET Status Code: 404 Not Found Any help diagnosing this issue would be handy. I'm not very familiar with http jetty from apache. Cheers Peter

Hi Dan Thanks again I've tried the snippet of code however, I think I need to understand a bit more about symbologyType and where it captures this attribute from within an mxd. would you mind if I provided you the mxd as it's created from BOM shapefiles which produces the layers. When I run the code SymbologyType comes back as 'OTHER' I'm obviously missing something. print lyr.symbologyType Returns 'OTHER' if lyr.symbologyType == "UNIQUE_VALUES": lyr.symbology.valueField = "SUB_REGION" lyr.symbology.addAllValues() arcpy.RefreshActiveView() arcpy.RefreshTOC() Cheers Peter

Hi there I would like to learn how to modify/add categories within Symbology programmatically in arcpy. I have created a Featurelayer from a shapefile. Now I want to set the available categories Is this possible and if so what is the code necessary to perform this function. Cheers Peter

It would be great if you could add the same format functionality as in the ideas Description for Geoevent email output.
