I was trying to report on any coded domains where the values in the domain were not sorted in order. When you add a new domain code, it gets added to the end of the list and I want to know where these situations exist in our database. But in the Pro SDK, the CodedValueDomain class only has the GetCodedValuePairs method to get access to these values and this returns a sorted list meaning they are not in the order they actually exist in the database. I can just run a sort on all domain and that will probably be correct. But I'd be concerned if there might be some domain that might have a specific non-sorted order that we don't want to change. I'll probably do this in python but my primary development environment is C# and I have lots of code and helpers to work with so prefer to do these things here instead. Would be helpful if the SDK could actually provide the needed information.

To add a specific here, this comes from the Gas and Pipeline UN Foundation Asset Package in the PipelineDevice feature class where the TierName field is long and the assigned Network_5_TierName domain is set as short. I just downloaded the latest version to verify it wasn't an old or modification that was made. But it's there as well.

I've been trying to do some schema updates on existing feature classes such as changing a subtype description. I'm using the SchemaBuilder to make the update. As a first test, I was following the example from the SchemaBuilder.Modify(TableDescription) documentation and it kept failing with the message... Error: The domain field type does not match that of the field it is being assigned to. As seems to be usual for these kinds of things, there's no mention what field has the error. There are 381 fields in this table so that's a lot of fields to check for what the problem might be. It would be extremely helpful if the error message indicated what field has the issue. I had to delete fields until I didn't get the error and then work down to the specific field. Turns out the issue is that the field type is long but the domain type is short. I understand they don't match but a long can hold any value a short can so it seems to be a non-issue. But more importantly, I can do any of these schema edits manually and Pro doesn't complain and allows the schema changes to occur. It seems that the SchemaBuilder is more picky about what is allowed than Pro is itself.

I used the new toolbox (atbx) recently when creating a simple toolbox that links to a separate py file like I used to do with the old (tbx) format. I only recently realized that atbx is a zipped file with a number of py, json and other files. It also seems like it might work better the Python Toolbox (pyt) for managing my python tools. But, I can't find any actual documentation about how to use and format an atbx file to do more advanced coding. Specifically, I was introduced to the UtilityDataManagementSupport toolbox that has some useful tools. If you "edit" any of the tools, there's just a stub function that calls the internal tool that does the work. There are a number of internal py files that have the actual logic for executing the tools. But the only option I see to work with atbx files in Pro is to add a script and edit the logic for that tool directly. How do you add additional classes or common code that all scripts might share in the atbx? Is it just a manual thing of unzipping the atbx file, adding your files and then recompressing? Seems a bit awkward to manage and test this way. I'm mostly surprised that there is apparently no documentation about what atbx is and how to work with it.

I noticed this issue recently myself. I just gave it a try on a different PC and it originally gave me the windows Open With prompt as I appeared to have not had any association for py files. I selected SciTE (my preferred editor) and it opened only there. I then set my script editor in Pro AND set windows to always open py files in SciTE and now, it opens in SciTE AND Notepad. Removing my script editor didn't change anything. I than had to edit the Windows Registry to remove my windows file type association. Now when I edit the script in Pro, it again asks what to edit with but then doesn't open Notepad. Adding the script editor back doesn't appear to do anything still. Not sure how setting the windows association to something else causes Pro to additionally open Notepad when not having a windows association works as expected but with the extra step of having to select your editor every time.

Just thought I would add to this again. I was running Pro 3.1.1 on a completely different PC and saw there was an update to 3.1.2. I click to update and then attempted to continue on with my other work. I was constantly interrupted by the installation stealing my focus as different parts of the installation happened. In addition, the UAC popup popped "under" the installing message so I didn't see it except that there was a flashing item on my task bar. This is really bad. I don't see any other applications I use behave like this and it's still an issue on the newest versions of Pro.

I'm building a process to iterate through all datasets in a Utility Network enterprise geodatabase so I'm using ListDataset, ListFeatureClasses and ListTables to get all the items I want to process. The one thing I'm noticing on ListTables is that it's giving me all of the UN_? tables such as UN_7_Topology, etc... which are hidden from normal views and I don't want to touch. Is there a way to check if a table is normally "hidden" or is something used internally that I don't want to touch? I could hard-code a check for anything that starts with "UN_" but there's nothing I'm aware of from preventing a normal table having a similar name that I would want to process.

I'm running some long running processing to update all subnetworks. I had it up in the background and noticed it was failing stating... ERROR 002119: Must be connected and signed into the portal. This was after running for a few hours out of the expected 24hr+. I had to cancel, log onto portal again and then restart the process. I've seen this before. It seems that every so often, you randomly get kicked out of your portal connection. Is there a reason for this? Is there a timeout or settting for how long you are allowed to be logged in? If so, it would be helpful if it could warn you and let you extend or re-login before getting disconnected. This is running on a test/staging system where I have Server/Portal/Datastore and Pro all running on the same system. In case that has any impact on anything.

-Physical -Pro 2.9.5 -3 monitors -Seems to be the same no matter what monitor the application starts in -Same when Pro is Windowed or Full Screen -Same when Pro is opened through Start menu or from opening an APRX -No custom configurations -Yes, I have my own custom add-in I use. But I did test removing it and the same results were seen -I'm seeing inconsistent results. I was initially seeing very few focus stealing especially when running normally and not debugging with Visual Studio. But as I was testing these different options, it seemed to get worse to where it almost always steals focus now even when not debugging. I can also try testing after rebooting to make sure my session is clean. I normally keep my session logged in for weeks at a time and only log off when updates are needed or some other specific requirement.

Correct, this is all within the RDP session. Nothing related to my local session connecting to the RDP.

RDP Pro 2.9.5 Physically 3 monitors but RDP is just a single monitor Same when Pro is Windowed or Full Screen Same when Pro is opened through Start menu or from opening an APRX No custom configurations Yes, I have my own custom add-in I use. But I did test removing it and the same results were seen I am connected to my PC remotely today and was reviewing this and noticed it's now doing it consistently any time I open ArcPro. My previous post was when I was physically at my PC and I only saw it when debugging. When I'm at my PC physically again, I'll test through these same options and report again.

I tested on my current desktop and I'm not seeing the issue right now with Pro 2.9.5 when running normally. If I'm debugging using Visual Studio then I do get the focus stolen when Pro first starts up but I don't seem to be getting it when opening a project. I'm not sure but I might have been running Pro 2.6.x when I commented previously. I also don't recall if I was debugging at that time. Perhaps that's part of where the issue was coming from. I'll test on some other systems when I can to see if I can replicate it under different configurations.

I can confirm this as well. This is an ArcPro issue, not any other application. Here are the steps I performed... 1) Open ArcGIS Pro. This can sometimes take a few moments. 2) Switch to another application and start typing. 3) When Pro is finished opening, it will steal focus and my typing now is sent to Pro. 4) Open a project in Pro. This again can take a few moments. 5) Switch back to my other application and start typing. 6) When pro is finished opening the project, it steals focus again and my typing is now sent to Pro. This happened with things like Firefox, Outlook and Remote Desktop. I was using RDP one time and it was annoying that it kept interrupting me in the middle of typing my password twice. But worse, that means my password was being typed into Pro which is a security risk. This is something that really needs to be addressed. Stealing focus should only be for critical things. Not just while opening an application. You're not that important.

I've yet to find anything that explains the issue. Luckily, I haven't run into it with Pro 2.8 yet. Or if I have, restarting Pro or something simple fixed it. So maybe it's finally been addressed in some recent update.

Just wanted to add that I get this on the most recent Pro 2.9 version from a clean install. Whatever the issue is has not been addressed in Pro yet and is there out of the box. I've generally gotten used to this issue and restart ArcPro whenever it happens. But seems like something that I would have expected would have been addressed by now. I haven't tried the command line install option yet but that's still a workaround for an issue that should be addressed.
