I was one of the team members associated with building and designing the story map entitled “Landmark at Risk: Protecting the Historic Seaport of Annapolis, Maryland” and our team was informed that our product was highlighted by Esri Solutions during the plenary of the conference. We are working to identify who was presenting so we might be able to see the presentation and obtain any feedback provided by attendees. Is there any way to connect us with the individuals who presented?

Rupert, Many eyes have seen this post and I am feeling a bit discouraged by the lack of responses. I am a huge proponent of story maps and 100% agree they increase engagement and effectiveness of content, but having data to support this claim would be invaluable. Has your team uncovered anything? -Brad-

I am trying to find information to validate and promote the use of story maps but everything I have found has been qualitative. Thank You

Stephen, This is a relatively new issue. Both of those webpages had been loaded into the app and have only recently not been working. Thanks, Brad

Stephen, I am hosting the cascade app on an https site (https://baker.maps.arcgis.com/apps/Cascade/index.html?appid=ce692d1d86bc4b18aae6b4a34c91594b) The web pages I am working to embed into the story map are: Sagecoast.org wetlandswatch.org/<http://wetlandswatch.org/> Is there any work around for this? Thanks, Brad

I am currently having issues with the Cascade StoryMap Template. It will not allow me to link to any websites through the media tab or as an immersive section.

Owen, It is more of a style choice – primarily because the standard text option margins are so large it makes the document significantly longer… and well someone viewing the content may get tired of constantly scrolling. In an effort to work around this, the captions have the ability to be as wide as the images, greatly reducing the length of the overall product. I actually don’t mind the color difference, and I completely understand it, but limiting the length of the product to something easily digestible is the most important issue. If there was a functionality to make the margins wider that would really be helpful. To get an idea of what I am discussing, here is the link to the current story map: http://arcg.is/2cpn9II If you compare the second page text to the image captions you will see the major difference in width utilization. Thanks, Brad

Owen, It seems that the text color issue has been resolved for the text for the most part. The general text is maintaining the color choice at this point. However, it seems that the image captions are not having the same success. Although it is showing Black 000, the text still seems to be gray (see images attached). You can really see the difference between the title color and the caption text. This is occurring in both IE and Chrome. Is this currently a limitation of the captions? Thanks, Brad

Owen, The color difference seems to be minimal (see image Chrome on left and IE on right), but I am happy to hear you will have the color issue resolved. I really appreciate your responsiveness. Thank You, Brad

Owen, This problem has been resolved. However I am still having issues with the text color. Whether or not I use the color selector, hex code, or move the point around some of the text will not retain the color after selecting “choose”. It seems pretty variable. Some sections of text will change, others will not. The text also seems a bit darker in IE than in Chrome. Thanks, Brad

Owen, That is how I have been doing my workaround, by moving the color selector. Even when I do that however, oftentimes the color will not change and it takes multiple tries, even when I type in the color code. Im having a problem simply getting the same color black. -Brad-

I am currently working on the Cascade Story Map and I have encountered a few issues: There are no options to change the text style for the Titles (font, size, bold, etc) - I would like the font to be the same throughout so it looks polished There is no ability to change the size of font for the image captions When I identify the color of the text, it does not actually change the color of the text - it maintains the default gray color - it does change sometimes but black seems not to be working consistently - even typing the color codes in does not seem to be working. When you add text it would be beneficial if you were able to control the width of the margins. If you were able to expand the margins you could reduce the length of the story map and require less scrolling from the viewer = lower level of effort on their part and hopefully more absorption of the material presented. I identified an issue with Internet Explorer and you are providing a fix today. I really appreciate the responsiveness!!! -Brad-

I am using the Beta version of the Cascade story map. The title page text is not adjusting to the screen size appropriately. the title remains one line and runs off the screen. This is not occurring in Chrome. Is anyone else having this issue?
