Hello Everyone! I am currently in the last few weeks of my internship with a GIS city group, my supervisor has introduced me to the Water Utility Editing Tools and its features. I have been tweaking the config file to match our layer names and everything, but cannot get the "Add Laterals From Line Locations" tool to work properly. When I select a water meter and the main water line, the tool will run and produce a connecting line that only makes it roughly halfway to the main line. Here are a couple of images to hopefully clear any confusion: Here you can see two test water meters with a mainline across the street: After selecting BOTH the meter and the main line, I am given this after running the "Add Laterals From Line Locations" Tool: I am curious if anyone has encountered this problem before and/or might be able to give me insight to a solution?! Any help would be greatly appreciated and let me know if you need me to provide any more information such as the Config file I have setup. Thanks ahead of time!

Hey all, I did some searching around and I hope I am a) Posting this thread in the right area and b) am not posting a question that has already been answered by the community. If you could please guide me to the right area if either a or b is the case, I would greatly appreciate it. Currently I am interning with a city and have been given a task that I am unsure about. I am supposed to use the Attribute Assistant in order to update fields from Zoning layers to place them in the Parcel layers as well. I have the Attribute Assistant installed and implemented into ArcMap properly, but cannot find anything online that guides me in the right direction to use the assistant. After reviewing everything, I believe that I will need to use the "Intersecting Feature" rule in order to complete this, but that is about as far as I have been able to get. Basically I know I need the DynamicValue table in order to get this completed, I just don't understand the use of this tool at all. Is anyone aware of any quick guides that are available that will give sense to this process? Any help will be greatly appreciated, and let me know if there is any info needed in order to get me on the right track.

Hey all! I am relatively new to the forums (and Python) so please let me know if I am asking a question that is already answered elsewhere. Basically I am trying to edit a code given to me in order to list all the layers in my .mxd and correlate them to the data frame they are in. Right now I have this code: import arcpy
mxd = arcpy.mapping.MapDocument(r"FILENAME")
for lyr in arcpy.mapping.ListLayers(mxd):
if lyr.supports("DATASOURCE"):
print "Layer: " + lyr.name + " Source: " + lyr.dataSource Which was given to me, I have tried a few different options in the past week on my spare time to see if I could get it working to no luck yet. Is this code editable to the point of being able to also show the data frame name along with what information is already being shown? Any help/guide in the right direction will be more than appreciated. Thanks!

Russ, Thanks again for the quick reply and offering to help!! 1) I am using version 10.2.3 of Collector for the iPhone 5 2) I am confident that I am running the app in "connected mode". The map I am using is online and not downloaded or set to offline mode - our Group is not setup for an offline mode as of now. Hope this info helps, let me know if you have any other required information that might help. Thanks!

Hey all! Sorry to bother the forums with another question already, but I am unable to find much help/info through my online searches regarding my problems. At this point I have been placing points along a walking trail in the city to place amenities available to park goers; unfortunately after all my points were implemented and added in, they were gone after closing the app and never appeared on the browser side of things. When I was placing points via the "Collector" app, the error: "com.esri.arcgis.runtime.error error 498" would pop-up, but once I decided to hit "Cancel" the point would then be seen on the map overview; not only was it showing on the map itself, but I was able to check out the details of the map along with interact with the photos taken for the point. Anyone familiar with this error code and as to why this might be happening? Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

******UPDATE****** Once I chose the option to "Share with Everyone" the map became editable on my mobile device! So that problem is now out of the way, I am curious as to how it will be possible to get maps editable in the future without having to make them accessible to the whole world; considering I might be working with data that cannot be open to the web, I might need to tackle that problem eventually. Thanks!

I was informed that our Group IS hosted. I hope this information helps. Thank you for the help so far. Update:: The layers were originally put into ArcGIS through publishing them out of the .mxd file and the second attempt was done by feature service from a shape file to see if this made a difference. Still no luck unfortunately.

I am working with a city for the internship, so my guess is it is hosted? I do not know for sure if my answer is correct, is there an easy way for me to find out to inform you?

Hello everyone! I am being introduced to ArcGIS Online at my new internship and will be required to use the Collector App in order to map out amenities on our local Greenway. I have everything setup fine, all my layers made it over from ArcMap into my Group's database which are now editable and viewable while in the Web browser. When I open the map in the App on my iPhone, it doesn't seem to be working correctly. The "+" sign at the top of the screen is not there, which ends up not allowing me to add any points to the map; also, the "test points" I placed on the map in the browser do not show up on my mobile device either. I have checked around and made sure all "Editable" options are activated that would allow or disallow the editing of my map and the layers. Does anyone know any options to fix this or what could have possibly been done wrong that would cause this problem? Thanks!!
