I was wondering if there are differences in availability of tools/functionalities between purchased and free trial of ArcGIS Online? For example, if you purchase ArcGIS Online (I am guessing you purchase it by purchasing the Desktop version?), does it give you more tools to use in maps vs. when getting a free trial? If so, where can I get a list of unavailable tools in ArcGIS Online free trial?

I am creating a web map with locations which have pictures attached to them. I have a CSV file with the locations and their thumbnail url and regular-sized photo url, which I took from Flickr. They are shared publicly. I created a shapefile from the CSV file and then added to a web map. I followed this link to customize the pop-ups to show the thumbnail image: Tips for displaying photos in pop-ups | ArcGIS Blog But my thumbnail shows up like this (when I click on it, it directs me to the the regular-sized photo in Flickr). I am not sure why the thumbnail image does not show up.

I am creating a story map tour and importing the pictures from Flickr. It is asking me to click on the map to locate each point. Having to do it this way means I have to zoom in perfectly to each location which is time consuming and can cause errors. Is there an option to insert the coordinates?

I recently worked on a project where I had to map out 70 location sites in a city. The latitude and longitude were given to me by the client. When I first mapped out the locations, I assumed the coordinates were correct since they all fell within the city. However, I decided to check the latitude and longitude of each location and compare it with street view in Google Maps. I noticed that most of the longitude and latitude were incorrect. They fell within the city but in incorrect locations within the city (I also had corresponding description of each location and pictures and they did not match with what I was seeing in Google Maps) Now, I had no problem checking each site in Google Maps since there were only 70 locations. But I was wondering... What if I had hundreds of hundreds of locations to work with? How would I be able to check if coordinates are correct (obviously if the coordinates show me a different part of the world it would be obvious, but what if it is like my situation above where they look like they are in the right place and SEEM correct?). Is it my responsibility as a GIS person to figure this out if the client gives me incorrect data?

I am creating this map for an organization. Would I need to give them a link to the Flickr account which is hosting the images? It seems I need to use my Yahoo email. What happens if my Yahoo email gets closed for some reason? The reason I am asking is because I am wondering if issues could come up in the future which I could have no control and since the final product will be used by another entity (the organization), and not me.

I tried using this link Using photos stored in ArcGIS Online | ArcGIS Blog to see how I can get the URL but no URL shows up when I add the image. I can only share within my organization. Is this the reason why no URL shows up? Do I need to ask the administrator of the account to changed it to public?

I have a JPEG image of a map which I need to georeference. But first (I believe?) I need to give it a spatial reference. I used Define Project to give it WGS84 (which is the spatial reference of my other data). However, after I used Define Project, this is how the raster image shows up.

I was wondering how I would be able to find a Old Middle ages 13th Century – 16th Century map of Germany (or at least Europe). Or any shapefiles/layers during this time period which would show the changes in political boundaries? I am making a map of it in ArcGIS Desktop.

I am creating a story map and I saw the option for adding a CSV file which has all the data however I got this error: From this, I see that it is possible to add a field which will contain the photo for each point location? How can I do that inside a CSV file? Is it some sort of a link? The photos are stored in a folder in my computer.
