Geocoding is the process of transforming a description of a location—such as a pair of coordinates, an address, or a name of a place—to a location on the earth's surface. This list of learning resources for geocoding is not complete, but it will get you started. GeoNet In GeoNet search for "geocoding” to find relevant discussions, user questions and answers. ArcGIS for Desktop Help Search for "tutorials”. Scroll down and find the Geocoding tutorial. Search for "geocoding". There are many topics listed, such as “The geocoding workflow”, “About geocoding a table of addresses”, “Standardize Addresses”, “Geocoding a table of addresses in ArcMap”, and more. Search for “Excel”. There are many topics listed, such as “Understanding how to use Microsoft Excel files in ArcGIS”, “Formatting a table in Microsoft Excel for use in ArcGIS”, and many more. Search for “Working with the ArcGIS Online World Geocoding Service”.
