Hi Stephen. Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have location sharing turned-on for the Droid phone. Your response tells me though, that the issue must be with my own phone, since you didn't experience the issue. I actually use an iPhone 4 myself (no issues), but have an old Samsung, running Jelly Bean (Android version 4.1), that I use to test websites and my story maps. That phone, because it's an old model, can't be upgraded to a more recent Android version. I suspect the problem might be with the outdated version of Android. Does anyone know if this is actually the case? Anyone else have issues with their story maps on old Android versions? If I can verify that the issue is simply an outdated OS, I can stop concerning myself with it. Thank you! Greg

I've had this ongoing problem with getting the Shortlist Story Map geolocate button to work on Android devices. This is true even now, with the new beta version of the Shortlist app that no longer requires a spreadsheet for location entries. I'm serving over secure https (so that's not the problem). In fact, the issue exists even when serving directly from ArcGIS (app not embedded on my own secure site). I'm using an ArcGIS-served base map and have only uploaded one image for this test. (In other words, nothing is being called from an unsecured server.) Here's a link to the very simple test Shortlist app to illustrate the issue... http://arcg.is/2o6LB6g The geolocate button works on iPhones but not on Droids. Can anyone help? Thank you!

Hi Stephen. Thank you! That solves it. I'm moving the app to a secure hpps website. Glad to have that problems solved as it was making the map app useless to me, but I didn't want to give up on it. I appreciate it!

Hi Adrian, Thank you for your response. Yes, I've made sure the location settings are turned-on for each of the few Android devices on which I've tested the app. I created the short list based story map on my notebook computer, then opened it on both I-phones and Droids. I've not created any story maps, other than with the short list template, that use a geo-location button. The geo-location button is critical for use of these short list apps I created. I've not been able to find any info online to help with this problem. This suggests it must not be a common problem, yet I can't figure-out what's wrong. Greg

I've created two separate story maps using the short list template. The geo-locator button works on I-phones but not on Androids. Does anyone have any insight into this problem? Here is one of my story maps using the short list template for which I'm having the problem... Llano, TX B&Bs and Points-of-Interest Any help is appreciated. Thank you! Greg

So, I've created my very first rudimentary information collection form (two text fields) that provided an "Attach Image File" feature (required). I've tested the form, which seems to call its own basic results viewer from ArcGIS. Everything seems to work as intended in the view, but the attached image is nowhere to be seen in viewer. I've no idea what happens to it after it's sent. I'd like for the image to appear in a pop-up when the associated location marker is clicked in the map viewer, but I've no idea how to do that. Can anyone explain? Here's the rudimentary web app... http://gregoryklein.maps.arcgis.com/apps/GeoForm/index.html?appid=dad30e999a004b8b8b9a0bd2f9964545 Thanks! Greg

Issue resolved. I can only insert secure (https) url's, otherwise I need to require those with whom I've shared my story map, to tell their browsers to allow unauthenticated scripts and/or unsecured content. Since it's my own website that I wish to insert, I'll need to obtain an SSL certificate.

I figured out the problem. All of my tested browsers (Chrome, IE, Firefox) were blocking the websites from loading inside the story map app because they were claiming that it contained "unauthenticated scripts" or "insecure content". With two clicks, I was able to allow the content thus fixing the problem. However.... This begs another question... How can I "authenticate" this content such that I can share the story map with others, without them having the same problem that I had?

OK, you're javascript blocker comment set me a path where I figured out the issue... I'm not using any such blockers. oops, I meant "I'm" fairly technical. Adding a url is not technical at all. On Mon, Jan 25, 2016 at 7:39 AM, Gregory Klein <logiasophia@gmail.com>

I agree. It seems very simply and fairly technical. I've entered both the url and embeded the source using iframe tags. There is no error message. The website simply fails to show-up in either edit or view modes. It's as though I never entered anything. No pop-ups, etc. And, yes, I've tried it with simply domains like cnn.com. I've even created a new story map journal with only one section to retest... http://arcg.is/1ntfaOM same problem -- it's as though I never entered anything.
