I also got this code to work: var geometry = features[0].geometry; var buffer = geometryEngine.buffer(geometry, 10, 'feet'); view.extent = buffer.extent.expand(2);

I have a simple problem I can't seem to solve. I query a feature and zoom to it: feaFarms.queryFeatures(query).then(function(results){ const features = results.features; //view.goTo(features[0].geometry, 1000); var geometry = features[0].geometry; view.goTo(features[0].geometry); After I "goTo" the queried feature geometry I want to zoom out a percentage so I can show some of the area surrounding the feature of interest. I've tried getting and setting the scale but that doesn't work real well.

We are trying to get to 10.9.1 Enterprise so we can transition from ArcGIS Desktop to ArcGIS Pro. After that and a lot of test we will go to Enterprise 11.1. Right now, we are having problems with ESRI getting the migration from Enterprise 10.8.1 to 10.9.1 right - long story and ESRI has an update bug.

We are migrating to ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 in January. What version of ArcGIS Pro should we install? This will be our first use of ArcGIS Pro in a production environment.

You probably need to use the WKID (Well Known ID) which for WGS 1984 GCS is 4326. Well-Known ID The Well-Known ID (WKID) is a unique number assigned to a coordinate system. You can find the WKID in the Coordinate Systems Details window. Once you know this number, it's a handy way to search for the coordinate system later.

Has anyone used the MS Dynamics Web and REST APIs to integrate with their GIS? We are looking to move MS Dynamics attributes to our GIS feature classes (for mapping purposes) using the REST APIs. Just curious if there are any "gotchas" or tips and tricks to be aware of.

I had the same issue but just fixed it by changing df/dataframe to "PAGE_LAYOUT" in the ExportToJPEG function. Works like a charm.

We have a Soil Report format that includes a table of values that is calculated on the fly. The report also includes a logo, title, township-section-range information, a map and branding. Currently it is created using JavaScript and Microsoft Reporting Services because it is tied into an old ASP.Ne/ArcGIS JS API. We want a standalone geoprocessing service to create it. We are thinking of building an Excel template and then using xlswriter to update it with the current farm field's soils information. Maybe we use ReportLab to get to PDF format. I am advanced Python but not expert. Thank you for replying.

We are going to develop a PDF report that is currently created using a Python GP service and Microsoft Reporting Services as a stand-alone GP service without the microsoft .net piece. I am looking at Pandas and ReportLab as possible tools to accomplish this fairly advanced reporting task. Has anyone had any experience with these tools and have some wisdom and experience to share. I am starting fresh with both of these and with advanced Python reporting from a GP Service. Goal is a PDF file.

I'm only returning one output file, are you returning two? A shapefile and a KMZ? Maybe you need 2 output parameters, one for each file type.

I have solved the issue. The GP service output should be of type "File". The user can click a link and the zip file downloads. The Portal arcgisjobs folder is used for the shapefile and the zip file. Code to follow: # ExportShapefile - Created by Jeff Hanson, HFM # Purpose: to export selected featues to a usernamed shapefile as a geoprocessing servie # Note: the output directory is PortalShapeFiles on Hertzgis server, a shared folder import arcpy, os, json, sys, zipfile, urllib2 arcpy.env.overwriteOutput = True #################################### ### setting variable default values #################################### arcpy.AddMessage("Default scratch GDB is:") arcpy.AddMessage(arcpy.env.scratchGDB) arcpy.AddMessage("*******************************") # Excel table output folder exportFolder = arcpy.env.scratchGDB jobsDir = os.path.dirname(os.path.abspath(exportFolder)) arcpy.AddMessage("Export Folder: " + exportFolder) arcpy.AddMessage("Jobs Dir: " + jobsDir) ############################# ### Getting input parameters ############################# arcpy.AddMessage("Collecting input parameters") # Get the passed field polygon graphics and user specified shapefile name inFeatset = arcpy.GetParameter(0) if inFeatset == '#' or not inFeatset: sys.exit() shpFileName = arcpy.GetParameterAsText(1) outputShapeFile = jobsDir + "\\" + shpFileName + ".shp" if not shpFileName: sys.exit() arcpy.AddMessage("Output file is " + outputShapeFile) ############################# ### start main proccess ############################# try: arcpy.AddMessage("Running shapefile export to create " + outputShapeFile) arcpy.CopyFeatures_management(inFeatset, outputShapeFile) arcpy.AddMessage("Created shapefile: " + outputShapeFile) # put the files that make up the shapefile into a zip file zip = zipfile.ZipFile(jobsDir + "\\" + shpFileName + ".zip", 'w', zipfile.ZIP_DEFLATED) for file in os.listdir(jobsDir): if file.startswith(shpFileName): if not file.endswith(".zip"😞 print(os.path.join(jobsDir, file)) zip.write(os.path.join(jobsDir, file)) zip.close() arcpy.AddMessage("Zip file created.") outputFile = jobsDir + "\\" + shpFileName + ".zip" arcpy.AddMessage("Return file is " + outputFile) arcpy.SetParameter(2, outputFile) except: arcpy.AddMessage("Error exporting and downloading shapefile " + outputShapeFile) sys.exit()
